This will be the 3rd review I’ve written about how terrible this hotel is. I have no idea how the Marmot Lodge continues to magically have my reviews removed without even one attempt at contacting me to apologize for the condition and state of their rooms. I think they contact google and lie about the fact that I never stayed here or something but that truly is not the case. So I say again I stayed here approximately 6 - 8 weeks ago when I was passing through on a work trip with a co-worker. We got in quite late and this hotel was one of the only ones with rooms available. Probably should’ve been a clue. Anyway, we got 2 rooms. Rooms 105 and 106 right beside each other. The first thing we both noticed was the smell of mildew or moldy type smell. But we thought we’re tired we can overlook it. Well it gets worse. The carpets in these rooms have not been cleaned or changed in many years is my guess. Rooms were vacuumed but not everywhere. Under the beds was dust and debris. My particular room once I went to bed the smell from the pillows was like an ashtray. Every pillow on both beds smelled like someone just smoked into them. Eventually I couldn’t take it anymore and I got up put all my clothes on and made a pillow out of my jacket. I just couldn’t fall asleep because of the smell of this room and what I thought was filth everywhere. Do not be fooled by the pictures of this hotel or reviews claiming how great it is. This place has not been maintained very good at all when you consider other options in Jasper and area. I’ve stayed in over 700 hotels in the past 10+ years and this place ranks in the top 3 worst I’ve ever stayed in for actual cleanliness…..not once has the management contacted me to apologize for how bad the room was or responded to any of my reviews. They just continue to delete them somehow on false pretence. I’m not a difficult person to please or get along with. I wouldn’t suggest anyone stay here until they make some major changes and efforts to renovate and maintain the hotel way better than they do currently. The person who I work with who stayed in the room beside me thought the exact same way as I did about the condition of his room….don’t be fooled by this place. It’s not pleasant or clean when you get right down to it. Disgusting is generous. Stay elsewhere if you...
Read moreI was just here July 18-20 for a vacation. We rented a room with full kitchen and a 2 queen beds with sofabed.
Pros: The location is nice because its in the heart of jasper. and its close to everything.
Cons: Check in time is 30 minutes minimum. Theres two girls on the concierge but they are serving the same customer at the same time. No physical distancing going on. i know theres a sticker, But still dont let all the people stay inside the lobby at the same time. I booked this room thru pursuit website (their very own website) And i should get $50 credit towards jasper attractions. I called before hand and they said that they will issue it upon check in. When i came the two girls dont know what im taking about. She said to come the next day to talk to manager. I said okay no problems. The following day i talked to the manager. He told me that i didnt book it properly and that im not entitled to that $50 credit. BUT anyways He will GIVE it to me. Well, thanks for giving that to me but i think i was suppose to receive it in the first place!! His name is Chris Woo. He also misinformed me that the credit will not help me to refund $50 from my prebooked maligne lake cruise that i book few days ago before checking in. I told him I already talked to the pursuit call center 3 times, But still insisting that I dont know what im talking about! But later on I went to pursuit and got my $50 back by showing the coupon. PLEASE DONT MISINFORM people and please be polite! You talk like i dont understand English. Oh well. Another issue is the airconditioner. Its hot and and not working well. The kitchen is filthy good thing i have lysol wipes and wiped all the surfaces. The dish drainer below the sink is filled with dust and oily. finger marks of the previous occupant still in the appliances( signs of no wiping down) Its COVID people. So please be mindful of your guest! if you dont know how to clean properly or you dont have enough staff then reduce your occupancy. all the rooms are occupied. The headboard of beds are dusty too. No bedsheet for the sofabed. The price that people pay should be matched with cleanliness and respect. Will not come back to this place!! STAY AWAY!! If theres a negative star i would give it! take your 600$ elsewhere. Get a...
Read moreWe are on our last night of a 3 night stay. It was not what we expected, but let's start with the good. The bedroom in the Kitchen Suite was comfortable and updated. The bathroom and kitchen had also been updated not too long ago. The TVs were a nice size. Now for the rest. The couch and chair in the living room were quite uncomfortable as you sink way down in them. They also had some stains on them. The "cozy" fireplace only had an On/Off switch. The flame was feeble and it made an annoying hissing sound when turned on. However, by far the worst was the equipment in the kitchen. We paid extra to get the Kitchen Suite for our 3 night stay as a) we like to save some money by not having to eat out all of the time; and b) we enjoy cooking. Choosing the Kitchen Suite was a waste of money for us. No baking dishes (unless you want to count the tiny broiling pan from the oven, wrapped in tinfoil. What's up with that?). The pots were poor quality with loose handles. And they were dirty. One cheap, flimsy knife. I had to use the knife in my multitool to cut yams as it was impossible with the one provided. Have you ever tried to slice yams with a multitool knife? Not fun. And to top it all off, disposable plates and eating utensils. That was very disappointing. In a place known for its nature and natural environment to find a hotel advertising a kitchen that then provides you with disposable plates and utensils? Also on the environmental side, the coffee machine was a Keurig, another terrible choice. One final note, during the 3 days we have been here, Housekeeping has never once asked us if we wanted anything done to our room. For a stay this short, we usually do not ask that our towels and bedding be replaced, but it would have been nice to have some vacuuming done at the very least. We love Jasper and come here as much as we can. But this will be the last time we choose...
