Difficult review to write because the staff was friendly and professional but the hotel room itself was a real letdown! We had 3 nights in a queen loft room with a queen bed upstairs in the loft and another downstairs in a bedroom, very tiny room (no pictures of it online) small kitchenette & small bathroom. Night one was a write off! We couldn’t sleep because the mattress was like a banana, had to stuff pillows in between mattress & boxspring and it didn’t help much…very worn out and should have been replaced a long time ago! When paying to stay in a hotel I do expect the bed to be at least able to support 2 medium sized adults without making them roll to the centre because of a sagging and worn out mattress! We asked the next day for a new mattress and they did replace it but the boxspring is also worn out. Upstairs bed just as worn out but only our 106 pound daughter was sleeping in it so she slept in the middle. Furniture is also tired, no closet downstairs just some wall hooks in the bedroom, upstairs is a tiny open place to hang a few clothes. Bedroom downstairs is so small all that fits is a small night table and the bed with about 8 inches beside the window on the one side of the bed and maybe 2 feet at the bottom where the wall has the hooks. No A/C and no elevators in the hotel, the Carpet in the room was fairly new. The rooms have walls like paper (seriously) so you can hear everyone in the hotel beside you, in the hall, even below you and when the cleaners were in the hallway you could hear them talking and yelling at one another. Even people when talking in normal voice levels in rooms or hallways could easily be heard… so NOT peaceful! It’s an old wood framed building and every loft has a wood staircase and you can easily hear stairs when being used and floors when being walked on. The room was tired and the kitchen had very basic items, pot, pan, strainer. utensils, lacking many items to truly be able to eat a full meal as a family, bowls were the size of coffee mugs, stovetop with 2 old elements was old and very slow to heat up. The patio door was filthy on the outside, hasn’t been cleaned for quite a while, difficult to see out so although we saw a bear and deer we sadly couldn’t take pictures due to the dirty glass. Cleaners did the basic clean and bed making, replenished shampoo, soap, towels and dish towels but never replaced the note pad despite us having left the cardboard with the pen in a prominent place to show it had no paper left on it. The location is great (as are all hotels in the Jasper Town) they get 5 stars for their pool and hot tub which were clean and well maintained and kept at a proper temperature with excellent chemical balancing. Very disappointing stay and if returning we would NOT stay here again. Checking out tomorrow, we do believe we should not be charged for the first night which would be the right thing for them to do but will see what happens upon checkout. UPDATE; upon checkout the front desk Hal was not apologetic at all and when I asked that they not charge for the first night she replied “I can give you a 15% discount but that’s all, I take in all of the complaints when guests check out but I am not the manager and she is not here so that’s all I am ever authorized to do”. So from her answer I assume that many guests...

We weren’t given any pillows for the sofa bed that we were obviously going to use since I booked for, 4 people, and was only supplied a fitted sheet, and 2 light fleece blankets. half the TV channels are fuzzy or the sound cuts in and out. We weren’t able to connect our PS4 to the WIFI to watch movies or shows and the hotel doesn’t offer movie rentals (it’s minus 40 outside so not much really to do). Walls are paper thin. If you’re sleeping in a normal suite on the bottom floor you can hear the people above you running up and down the stairs from the loft, if your neighbours have the TV up too loud you can hear it through the walls. The bedrooms are on facing the inside of the complex so when loud, Rowdy people walk by you’re up again. If you’re a light sleeper, don’t stay here. I travel with my Ninja Grill but the kitchen doesn’t have any steak knives or a pairing knife to cut anything with except a bread knife that is supplied. Then, our second last day of our stay (today) our heat quit working! Called the front desk and asked someone to come look at it. The man came and sat down on our fireplace put his hand on the pipe and said it was hot but someone would come bring us a space heater. Well I could place my hand right inside the middle of the radiator and it was cold! Then he started telling us we should leave the curtains open because the heat goes up behind the curtains. We’ve already been here for 3 nights, and never had that problem but my husband did leave the curtains open all day before we left the room, even though I was against it and didn’t close them until we got back. Then said the wind has changed directions, then it’s because the chimney in the fireplace could be open (it’s closed), then it’s because it’s cold out and there was nothing they could do it just happens. LOL! Ok. The room temp dropped from °25 to °15 in just a few hours. Someone brought us a small desk space heater and gave us the same spiel. This must happen often. For $222/night I except better. Kids had fun in the pool, although the pool is not a hot pool as...
Read moreA great property situated in a quiet area of Jasper. Probably first built as an old style travel motel, additions and upgrades have turned this into a wonderful place to stay. It’s a bit off the beaten path from the main area of Jasper but wouldn’t be much more than a 15 minute walk. As an ‘elite’ member with BW, we were offered an upgrade to our room. A wonderful loft with kitchenette and balcony facing the courtyard and a mountain view. The queen bed could have been a touch more comfortable, but mattress comfort is a subjective issue. Bathroom is somewhat tiny but not too far off from most hotels. A word of warning if traveling in the summer. There is no air conditioning on the property. For a mountain hotel, not a big deal for most of the year I’m guessing, but temps were in the upper 20’s when we were there and the loft area especially was quite warm. The hotel does, however provide fans and it helped greatly. For those that like “free” breakfasts provided, unfortunately the property has a restaurant attached, so no freebies. That said, we had supper and breakfast at the restaurant. The supper had a Father’s Day special which was probably one of the best meals (for the price) that we’ve had in a long time. Ribs were very good with lots of fresh, well cooked veggies accompanying. The breakfast is buffet ONLY and the regular price would have been way too much for what was offered (luckily we were given a 2 for 1 when checking in which made it worthwhile). Overall, a nice hotel which (thanks to the bump up) was a great deal. I can’t comment on what a standard room at the going price would...
