I have to admit, it was pretty run down and we were a bit disappointed upon using the facilities. First off, pool was “closed due to needing a final health inspection” (even though one of us specifically called ahead to ensure they had a pool and the receptionist said yes, an outdoor one, without any warning and no indication on the website whatsoever). Huge bummer as we only wanted to book a hotel with a pool specifically. Next, the outside entrance door was faulty and could be opened without a key card (not the most secure feeling, especially with kids along and a ton of guests in and out of the patio/parking areas near our door). Next up, minor detail- but the walls seem to be thin because we could clearly hear our neighbours consummating 😬. My son came screaming out of bed with a giant bug on him. The shower cut in and out of piping hot then cold water (our poor kid found out!). The toilet was loose and banged against the wall when sat on. Bathroom fan was not operational and had a towel shoved inside of it. The air conditioner was quite noisy and interrupted falling asleep only. Receptionist was patient and sweet but seemed bothered (or exhausted/understaffed?). On the upside, Beds were clean and fine. All room supplies stocked and clean. Outside patio area was nice, along with a side field to kick a ball. Still not worth the nearly $200 spent on a sub-par stay and trying to keep kids occupied without a pool they were promised. An upscale Niagara Falls hotel cost us $250 just two weeks prior, just for comparison. Thanks...
Read moreDebbie, Lisa, and Larry (the maintenence man) went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! They were friendly, prompt, and efficient in dealing with any issues that arose! Larry even offered to help us upstairs with our luggage, accepting no tip. The bed was comfy and the fridge, TV, and coffee machine worked well. The room was clean. The exercise room's AC was broken, and it was VERY uncomfortable in there when using the equipment!! The pool was well maintained and I used it every day of my stay there! There was a rubber bath mat in the room that could be used to safely shower. We liked this! We did not use the breakfast nook, so I cannot comment on it, except to say that it looked nice. In the room, there were electrical cords and wires that should be tucked away as they are a safety hazard, particularly for young children. My partner was locked out of the building from the pool as there is not a working keyed entrance from the pool enclosure. The shampoo and conditioner are in identical SMALL containers. It is difficult to tell which one you have when in the shower, without your glasses on. I have long hair, and had to ask for more little containers. 'On the shower wall' dispensers would solve this issue. The lights on the elevator flickered, somewhat like strobe lights, at times. Parking was easy. Even though I wrote of some problems, I would DEFINITELY go back again. Overall, it was a...
Read moreThe room we received was very unsafe, and had urine and tissue in the toilet when we arrived. My wife was very uncomfortable and was not able to sleep for most of the night. Our room as located directly next to an outside patio area on the ground level and to a side entrance. We checked in late at night, so when we entered our room and turned on the lights, the random guest outside smoking was able to watch us get in and awkwardly double check the door/windows and shut all the curtains. The one bed is directly next to the sliding patio door. I double checked the door, and it doesn't even lock! The latch has no hardware to secure itself to, only a broken bent screw. The security bar is also broken on it, so there is a piece of wood on the bottom to stop someone from the outside getting in. It can even open a tiny bit even with the latch "on", because all that is stopping it from opening is that piece of wood. The room was also very noisy due to being next to the entrance door. Had people in and out really late. Learned our lesson, will not be staying at another Best Western.
