The Ramada is an excellent, affordable hotel. We were put into the poolside building. Our room (on the first floor) was spacious, we had access to a small patio, and we were situated close to the pool and workout room as advertised. The pool opens at 7 am, however, when we tried to go in a bit after 7, it would not open. Upon speaking to the front desk, we received a brand new room card, no questions asked. This, along with their easy, pain-free check in process illustrated the excellent customer service that we experienced during our stay.
Parking was plentiful and low cost, at $5.00 a night. Parking was situated very close to the rooms, so unloading the car was a breeze.
The room itself was very clean, and the bed (and the pillows!) were comfortable. However, we requested a queen and it seemed as though we only got a double, so it was slightly cramped.
Additionally, we were given an accessible room. Our shower had a seat inside of it, and our room had a doorbell outside of it. It was very spacious, allowing for a wheelchair or other mobility device. The pool was accessible as well, and had a pool lift that could be operated for those with mobility issues. However, the aforementioned patio that could be entered from a door at the back of our room was NOT accessible, and had a small step. Just something to keep in mind for those seeking an accessible room.
All in all, an excellent hotel experience.

I'm writing this comment at 3am, because i just switched a room due to extremely terrible condition. If you want ants in your room, perfect! This is the place! I brought my cat to a road trip and noticed this is a "pet-friendly" hotel, so I booked here for three nights and spent more than 800 dollars (they charge $50/ night for pet). However, on the second night, my cat behave very wired and constantly scratching himself. So I started to worry and check if there is any bugs in the room. Obviously, the ants were all over my cat's food bowl! Please see the pictures below. I had to bring my cat to the front desk to negotiate how i suppose to do for the rest of my night. The staff member did not even apologize and told me "that's because you left food on the floor and attracted the ants". First, I didn't leave the cat food on the floor, it was in my cat's food bowl. Second, is that my fault to feed my cat? Third, is that means I should not eat anything in my room because food debris can probably attract ants? Now I surely understand what's the pets-friendly means for this hotel: alive protein in your pets food!? I will update my comment tomorrow after I talk to the manager. I really wish I could give this hotel a zero star!

Great customer service from check in to check out. I was fooled from the outside because it looked kind of run down, but I was pleasantly surprised in the room. My room # 214 was renovated and clean. Two nice large queen beds. Some hotels say queen beds, but are smaller than queen. The mattress and bedding were very comfortable. I actually slept instead of tossing and turning like I usually do in a hotel. Good room amenities including a large TV, fridge, Keurig coffee maker with 4 coffee pods, sugar, sweetener, and whitener. Iron & ironing board, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. And plenty of towels. On the night table in between the two beds there was an excellent phone charger with four different outlets (two plug/two USB). The bathroom was really nice and clean with a large sink and counter, and a large bathtub/shower with spotless subway tile. The air conditioner was the way I like it (super cold). The hotel supplied a thoughtful breakfast bag that included spoon/knife/fork/napkin, water bottle, a juice box, yogurt, a small croissant, small margarine, ketchup, and a Jimmy Dean egg and sausage breakfast sandwich. If this is the typical experience at this hotel I will definitely be back!

Pros: Nice friendly staff was working there. Close to Highway therefore easy to access to get back on the road quickly. Looks like they are starting to renovate the front desk and perhaps breakfast area which is always nice. Bedsheets seems clean and white but to be honest I was a little scared to give them a good in-depth look. Decent size working fridge. Towels were white and clean with no stains. Free parking.

Cons: The smell in the room was HORRIBLE. It was stale and musty. I had to immediately open the patio door to let some fresh air into the room. I honestly was worried about my clothing in my suitcase smelling like the room so I had to seal everything up so it wouldn't. The patio door had a screen on it but the locks to hold the patio screen up to let the air flow through were stuck/painted over so I had to open the whole patio door with the patio chair. I went back to my car to get another item for the evening and I looked up and could see that there were several other rooms that were doing the same thing. Airing out their rooms as well. There were several hairs in the bathroom - on the walls and in the shower. There is a vent on the ceiling in the bathroom which is basically in the shower with you. It made me think that perhaps there could be a camera in there or something as it's literally in the shower with you and I found that very odd and kind of creepy. I took a little peek to see if I could see anything and all I could see was dust and a lot of debris. Needs to be cleaned out! I thought, yuck, I'm breathing that in. I never took my Crocs off once I entered the room. I had my outdoor shoes, which I took off and changed into my Crocs, because the carpet was quite moist and smelly. This may have been what was contributing to the smell in the room as well. There were a few K-cups for coffee that were available but no tea bags at all. Once I turned the lights off and got into bed, I laid down in the bed (I had two Queens and was laying down in the one closest to the patio) and there was a SUPER BRIGHT red light and two SUPER BRIGHT green lights that were shinning directly into my eyes from underneath the desk. They were the lights on the power bar which powered the coffee maker and TV perhaps? It was located underneath the desk. I had to turn off the power bar in order to turn the light off. I have a photo to show how bright the lights were that were literally BEAMING into my face. Really bad placement of the power bar. There wasn't a breakfast buffet that was included. First time that has ever happened. The hotel was attached to a Denny's and they offered Choice Hotel guests 10% off, which is literally nothing. So I was quite disappointed once I found that out. It does look like they are beginning to renovate this area so I'm hoping they include a breakfast buffet area.

Overall: I am a Gold Member of Choice Hotels and I am a few nights away from becoming a Platinum member so I have stayed at my fair share of Choice Hotels around Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Hamilton, Blue Mountain, Collingwood etc. and this one was by far the worst Choice Hotel I have...

I had an unfortunately awful experience during my stay here. I am not from anywhere near Kingston but was visiting for a family event. I'll list the concerns for you here but I suggest spending the extra couple bucks and going elsewhere.

 1. They refused to take anything but a credit card although I booked and held the room by credit card over the phone with the receptionist DAYS before and she did not mention anything to me about bringing the physical card (I do not travel with my credit cards, and have NEVER had this issue)... upon checking in they told me to "read the confirmation email". He REFUSED to check me in and said that the owner of this particular location says credit card only. In order to check in I had to provide a copy of my personal BANK STATEMENT as I had my credit card number memorized but that wasn't good enough.
 2. The room was actually disgusting. A huge dark stain on the carpet of suspicious nature, cracks all in the dry wall, my sliding door (I was on the ground floor) did NOT LOCK so they had a sort of latch holding it shut. The room smelt so bad and was so muggy even with the wall unit AC on- My clothes actually felt damp in the morning. The bathroom sliding door had no handle so when you shut it, it was very hard to open from inside the bathroom. The bathroom sink was cracked and leaking slightly and lastly the shower did not drain properly so by the time you were done with your shower the water was up past your ankles. This was room 128 FYI.
 3. my keys stopped working twice (no I don't keep them with my phone) - ended up with only 1 of the 2 keys actually working which was fine because I travelled alone.
 4. upon check out I let her know about this awful experience and she took $12 off my bill (2 days parking) - laughable.

Anyways spend the extra couple bucks and go elsewhere. Also for people not from the area like myself, I recommend you actually go closer to the CFB or downtown as I came to find out this area is not the best known spot. Side note, they have a Denny's attached but no option for room service(delivery)/ decent coffee etc. Breakfast and parking...

Our recent stay at your hotel, which unfortunately fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, we were very disappointed to discover that the bed linens in our room had not been changed. The sheets and pillows were visibly soiled with what appeared to be blood and vomit. This was extremely upsetting and certainly not the welcome we had anticipated. The next room we moved into was also not the greatest with a stained top sheet, we just removed this from the bed. We didn't want to complain yet again.. We did appreciate the breakfast vouchers that were offered to make up for this unsatisfactory experience. However, additional issues continued to arise. When we booked an extra night, the front desk agent quoted a total with taxes included, and I confirmed this amount with her twice. At checkout, I was surprised to find that the total had increased the total amount. This lack of clarity and consistency was frustrating and disappointing. As a Choice Privileges member, I was informed that I would receive 2,000 points in compensation for the condition of the room upon arrival. To date, these points have not been credited to my account. Furthermore, during our three-night stay, our room was not serviced even once. We received no housekeeping, and our garbage and towels were not changed unless I personally found a staff member in the hallway and requested replacements. At the request of the front desk, I had already sent an email outlining these concerns, but I have yet to receive a response from management. This lack of follow-through has only added to our disappointment. This was meant to be a quiet family vacation, but the overall experience left much to be desired. I would hope that the hotel will take these matters seriously and respond...
