We visited December 29th with a party of 6 - 3 adults and 3 children. We were grabbing dinner before an activity that we had booked at 715pm. We arrived at the restaurant at 545pm. Our area of the restaurant had 2 tables (including our table) occupied. We were seated and waited 15 minutes for our server to take our drink order. When the server came to the table, we went ahead and ordered our drinks and our entrees because we were in a time crunch. We explained how the bills would be split at the time of ordering (2 adults one child on one bill, 2 children and 1 adult on the other) The food arrived, which was decent, and I requested the bill as we were still eating to give the server enough time to organize the bills. 15 minutes passed and we still hadn't received our bill. We had to get to our booked activity, and I had expressed that we do need to go. The server was no where to be found. My husband and I left so we could get to our trolley tour in hopes of holding it until the rest of our party arrived. My friend stayed to finalize the bill - I left her with money to pay our bill. The bills finally arrived completely wrong, when my friend tried to have the server fix it, the server then replied "can't you just go ahead and pay it and figure it out between the two of you". Given the server clearly was not wanting to assist, and we had somewhere to be, my friend went ahead and paid the bills as they were and we are left to "figure it out". I was completely flabbergasted that this was acceptable behaviour, especially when our combined totals were almost $200 worth of dinner/drinks. I just want to mention something that unfortunately ended our evening on a sour note, and it’s not unique to this restaurant, becoming more and more common. When my bill arrives, it should be put down and left for review for a few minutes. I realize some people like to pay and get out quickly. My server put the closed bill down on the corner of the table and started entering the info into the debit machine. She said “how would you like to pay?”. I replied “I don’t know, I haven’t even seen my bill.” So often now servers are bringing the bill and placing it down to proceed using the debit machine when you haven’t even had a chance to review the bill. 50% of the time, upon looking at my bill, I have found errors, both being overcharged or forgetting to charge me for something, which I always point out, no matter who the total favours. Bills can frequently be incorrect, and the customer has every right to the chance to review this bill before being asked to pay. Set the bill down, leave the table and return. The majority of the time I pay with cash, but my server has already entered the transaction before I have a chance to tell them. Because of this I left frustrated. Her service was wonderful, but please ask your servers to present the bill (which she didn’t even do, she just place it down on the corner of the table, two spots away from me, and asked for payment without me even having a chance to review what I was, or was not, being charged for. Read moreVery disappointing experience!! We are from out of town and usually go to Montanas but decided to go here as we love our local Swiss Chalet. When we first got there our table was extremely sticky. After 15 mins a waiter and a trainee finally came over to ask us for our drinks at which point I asked politely if we could have a different table because it was extremely stinky. The waiter said we couldn’t have a new table but she’d get a cloth for us (which was fine) and took our drink order. Another 15 mins went by and the trainee came over to wipe our table for us (which was still stinky afterwards but we just sucked it up). When we finally placed our orders in we sat there waiting 30mins for our meal. Which I could understand if we ordered ribs but all we ordered were sandwiches. Our waitress never came back to ask us how our food was. We wanted re-fills on our drinks but couldn’t because our waitress was nowhere to be seen. When we were done we sat there waiting for our waitress to get our check but she never showed up. After waiting 10mins when we were done I had approached the first employee I saw and asked for our receipt and the employee told me that’s not her job to do and our waitress would be over soon. From our tables we saw the employee talking to the waitress staring at our receipt laughing than she put it down and walked away to do other stuff.
