Please save yourself the trouble and AVOID this hotel, it has been a terrible experience. The hotel is in a rough neighborhood of Regina (do not walk around after dark), rooms are not not well maintained, staff are rude and parking is a problem.
At 3pm during check-in, the receptionist (Jasmine) didnât even know I was a Marriott member and kept saying I booked through Expedia. They had 2 accessible rooms but said there is only one and itâs not ready even though the hotel had said they would have it ready for me to arrive in the morning. They were going to give me an alternate room but not one with 2 queens for which they said I had to cancel and rebook. Eventually I got an accessible room but it was in bad shape with cracks in the floor, hair in the toilet, etc. (I donât have photos but you can see this in photos from the other Google reviews)
You pay parking to the hotel but they donât put your plates into the Impark system so I got a parking ticket and had to spend time on my holiday trying to explain to Impark that I donât deserve a parking ticket. Apparently the receptionist said this happens often to many hotel guests and sheâd get my ticket cancelled.
I provided feedback about my stay to Marriott and got an email (from hotel manager Cari Lemieux) that the hotel will credit me some minimal points. 2 weeks go by, I follow up and a month later I still didnât get my points. I followed up again saying I felt bad about the poor customer service and asked for a full refund of points. The hotel finally credit the minimal points and closes the case. No email reply comes back, how disrespectful to just ignore customers!
I call Marriott customer service and asked for a full refund of points. They reopen the case only to have the hotel tell me they gave me the points and the case is closed again. I reply to the email asking for a full refund of points due to the parking ticket experience and the disrespectful customer service in resolving my issues but they donât address any of the specific concerns and just indifferently reply back to say they gave some points and the case is closed.
Marriott customer service transferred me to their manager and she said they canât do anything to help members. Marriott customer service will side with the hotel and the if the hotel only wants to give me minimal points, thatâs it. The hotel has said sorry so thatâs that. None of this is my fault but they make it seem like it is. How terrible to be a Marriott member! I wish Marriott customer service could do more to help their members but they are just letting the hotels just get away with being disrespectful to customers.
I had to post this long review so that others can save themselves the trouble Iâve gone through for the last month. Regina is a lovely city, please just pick...
Read moreWe had an amazing stay here when we were in town for our daughterâs cheerleading competition, conveniently located right beside Evraz place. There was a hockey tournament the same weekend so the hotel was busy with a couple other hockey teams, but the staff managed to keep the lobby and pool areas very clean. We met John in the dining area and he was such a pleasure to see in the mornings. He was always cleaning up and keeping the area sparkling, he was on the ready to lend a hand and clean up any spills. He was very joyful and made sure to ask how we were spending our day and wished our daughter well in her competition. The gal in the pool area was also very attentive and open to conversation. The front desk staff were also always pleasant, willing to help out with a smile. I also found the janitorial staff very kind, they were very busy as they had their hands full with the hockey teams running around and I appreciated how hard they were working to keep the lobby area very clean and tidy. Eye contact and a big smile was always returned with the same. Thank you!
Our room was beautiful, we had a lovely view of the North side of Regina. The stocked kitchen was not lacking any tools necessary to cut, chop and eat. The bathroom with the open shower was beautiful, although with two kids the floors got rather wet with the open concept. My son (2) slipped a couple times in the shower, which I came to find the only thing lacking in the room was some sort of mat for the shower floor to prevent slips and falls. My daughter still asks if we can go back and stay in the hotel room.
The pool was great. It had four separate areas. One for toddlers and young kids which was really nice to be able to relax a bit and let the kids splash around. The main pool area with the great waterslide, the lazy river which was great for the older kidâs and of course the hot tub which was a beautiful temperature. The main pool was also very warm and made the pool that much more enjoyable. I peeked in the fitness room, it was basic but had everything one would need to get a good sweat on, I usually utilize this area but our weekend was busy and didnât find the chance.
My partner and I had the munchies late one night and the Market downstairs was a great little addition to grab something, the treats were not wildly overpriced as they can usually be in hotel stores. Thank you to all of the staff at...
Read moreThe hotel is only 3 years old at the time of writing this review.. Overall it is a VERY nice hotel with amazing amenities.
Breakfast might be the best hotel breakfast I've ever had.. Scrambled eggs, waffles, breakfast wraps, REAL bacon, Turkey and pork sausages, yogurt, cereal, etc.. Very impressed with this. The lobby is also very nice and comfortable - great design. One thing to note this hotel does NOT have room service that I was aware of, but they have a very well stocked convenience nook by the front desk. There is a nice little laundry room on the main level, and usual amenities like a small business center with public computers, meeting rooms, etc.
The room I had was a full service room with huge bed, full washroom, 5 piece kitchen (microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, sink), couch, huge desk.. Really amazing actually! My issues with the room are primarily plumbing and HVAC.. The kitchen faucet has no cold water, even after running for 10 minutes. The shower controls also appear to have been installed upside down or backwards.. Hot is cold and cold is hot. They are also overly sensitive.. A quarter inch turn is the difference between nuclear and tepid.
The shower also seems to be missing a door.. When turned on it splashes all over the floor and there is a crack in the base tiles where water gets in.. Prime conditions for mould growth. A tile within the shower was also cracked right through.. Also prime conditions for mould to grow.
Lastly regarding the HVAC - the in-room furnace is right by the bed and runs 100% of the time so if you are a light sleeper this may be an issue for you. Tied in to that it seems like they REALLY cheaped out on the windows during construction.. They look like they are about 30 years old and appear to be single pane aluminum framed units with no insulation or thermal breaks. The result is the windows are VERY cold which causes the furnace to struggle to keep the room warm during very cold weather.. They really need to replace the windows!
Bonus points for LOTS of plugs.. Finally a hotel that got this right!!
Wi-Fi that comes free with the room was very fast actually! Premium option is available for a fee.
*note I did not use the pool but it looks...
