Aroma of Pakistan - Regina, SK Visited: January 12, 2025
Having visited Aroma of Pakistan before, we were curious to experience it under its new management, which took over on January 1, 2025. While the restaurant has retained its name, the menu has been revamped with additional offerings, including Hakka-style food.
We ordered one BBQ platter and one Hakka food platter. While the food was acceptable, it lacked the authentic flavors one expects from either Pakistani or Hakka cuisine. Another letdown was that the BBQ platter was not served on a hot plate, which diminished the overall experience. Additionally, the naan neither looked nor tasted fresh from a tandoor, which was disappointing.
It’s evident that the new management has significant work ahead to improve the food quality and deliver the authenticity diners might expect.
On a positive note, our server/host was friendly and professional, ensuring a pleasant dining atmosphere. The cost for both platters was approximately $50, which seemed reasonable for the portion sizes.
Overall, Aroma of Pakistan has potential, but there’s room for improvement to meet higher food standards.
Went for dinner. Lady at the desk was very polite and courteous. She explained the menu and preparation time of each item. She was server and cook as well. Ordered Mutton Korma, Tandoori Platter with Nan. Tandoori platter was the best. Mutton Korma not good. Lacks authentic Pakistani taste and portion was very small. Nan was fresh right out of Tandoor. Place looks clean. Paid $50 for two people for above mentioned items with tip. Will go again next month to try few other...

Yesterday, I tried the buffet at Aroma Pakistan with high expectations. However, I was disappointed. The buffet section was small, and the food quality was poor. The chicken karahi was sweet, the nihari did not taste like authentic nihari, and they couldn't even prepare a simple pulao properly. The seekh kebabs had the worst taste, while the only dish that tasted decent was the qorma. For dessert, they served whipping cream with pineapple, which was quite underwhelming. We paid the full price they asked for, but the food did not meet even basic expectations. This is why the Muslim community often prefers Indian restaurants—they at least serve vegetarian food properly. I request all Pakistani restaurant owners in Regina to respect customers’ hard-earned money. If we visit your restaurant, at least provide authentic Pakistani flavors. Please don't dilute nihari and paya with water just to increase quantity—focus on quality instead. If my review hurts anyone's feelings, I apologize. But I sincerely hope you improve your...
Read moreWe ordered a tiffin for whole week from this restaurant. Lady over there gave us menu to chose six dishes. We had to selected three meals from meat section and three meals from vegeterian section along with biryani. But when we choosed mutton the representative denied that its not included in tiffin and demanded 5CADs more to include mutton. But it was never mentioned before that mutton was not included. So we left mutton and selected beef nehari, chicken tikka and chicken karahi along with six loaves. But when we reached home we found that butter chicken was given to us instead of chicken tikka. Taste of butter chicken was really so horrible. I really hate these kinds of gestures from desi...
