edit: to let the owner know, I am not a friend of a disgruntled employee. I was a regular who got to know the old staff there. I knew Jamie before you got rid of her for “no specific reason”, I know your two younger girls who work in the front (who I absolutely adore as they give amazing service to customers when I go in), and I knew the young 17yr old girl who also stopped working there. (Which rumour going around is that you had something to do with that during closing shifts, suspicious that she’s no longer working there). So because the owner tries to find some sort of connection between staff and customers, (huge reach here lol) maybe he should try to keep his hands to himself and his wife (poor woman).
Had come in to get food and an Italian soda on February 7, 2024 at 7:34pm. Had seen that the chalkboard menu was as updated and didn’t see the poutine on there anymore so didn’t get food (which was probably a good thing as I seen the cook working in the back and remember last time I was there his coworker was telling him he needed to wash his hands after using the washroom). So decided to stick to my usual pineapple Italian soda. Had seen that there was a new worker behind the till who took my order, and seen that manager Trina was getting close ready and cleaning the seating area. The new girl took my order fine until I go to pay and the worker was watching me put my pin into the machine so I hid the rest quickly. As for the pineapple soda, if I could give this rating 0/5 I would. I took one sip of it and my stomach absolutely turned, which is weird because it’s just ice, tonic water and flavouring. Barely any flavouring, maybe a quarter of what was supposed to go in there, the tonic water tasted flat and didn’t hear a can opening so wondering if the can was open and sitting. I had asked the manager to dump the drink for me, so unfortunately I am out what I paid for it. (New bosses were in the office but highly doubt they would offer a refund or replacement...
Read moreWe planned a birthday lunch for my daughter on her birthday at Coney Island Poutine. We drove in from out of the city, invited her grandparents, also from out of the city all to meet for lunch... so she could get her FREE birthday poutine and a milkshake. After helping my elderly parents to their seats, we went up to order. When I mentioned it was my daughter birthday, I was asked if I had ID. When I mentioned I had her health card, the women rudely pointed to the sign and said "it's on the sign, we don't accept health cards". We stayed for lunch, spending $60 on everyone and no FREE birthday poutine because we didn't carry proper ID for the 11 year old? Very disappointing fun birthday lunch😞 What exactly would be acceptable ID for a child to qualify for a FREE birthday poutine? And maybe publish this information so they know ahead of time. Maybe, notice that a large family has come in for a lunch and you just refused to give an 11 year old her FREE birthday poutine? If you want to keep costumers coming back, this is not the...
Read moreWe went to Coney Island tonight to grab some supper. They mixed up our order and caught us outside as we were leaving, totally fine if there was not a list of disappointments to follow. My boyfriend ordered a chili burger with bacon. He received a burger with cheese and raw onion on it and nothing else. This alone was upsetting as I loved this place and it has been a few years since visiting, and I guess the quality has decreased. It was pretty embarrassing to have talked it up so much. Additionally, there is a charge on his receipt for 5$ Mac'n'Cheese. Which he did not order. When he called, he was told that the likelyhood of being compensated for this was low. Seeing as he paid 35$ for a burger and a mini poutine (with a milkshake of course). It was upsetting to receive such a response. Eating out is a special treat for us and I am very sorry that we wasted it on this place. Attached are the pictures of his burger and the receipt. On a positive note, the staff were...
