We had a good stay in this hotel and we will definitely book this place again in the future. We stayed here for a night on August 12, a stop-over for our long drive. I booked a room with two double beds for two adults and two kids. Check-in was fast. Joseph, the receptionist is okay, he gave us all the necessary information for our stay. The room in general was clean especially the washroom. The only thumbs down is that the headboards were dusty, we noticed it on our bedtime. Adults enjoyed the hot tub while the kids were swimming at the pool. This hotel is one of the few hotels that has laundry room for guests. For me, it is a plus factor because we are not going to pack our swim suits wet. They also provide a ice cube despenser, no charge. Unfortunately, they run out of detergent when I need to wash our clothes so I have to buy at the convenient store. They have a free breakfast, it was simple but better than nothing. Coffee, apple juice, orange juice, cereals, toasts, waffles, muffins, bananas and apples were served for our breakfast. There is a gas station and also, a convenient store in front of the building. Tim hortons to ease your hunger.

The location is a pain to get in and out of. The hotel itself was disgusting. The wallpaper is coming off the walls, there are stains all over the walls. The chair in our room was heavily stained to the point of no one wanted to use it. The duvet had black marker with arrows pointing up, not sure what that was about and was lumpy from the inside piling in one spot. The headboard had dust and skin cells on it (I had to clean it), The fridge had a sticky substance down the front of it and sides, again we cleaned it. The cups for the coffee machine are not in a protected seal to ensure cleanliness. The toilet isn't secured to the ground right so it shifts when ypu sit on it. We went out for the day, came back our room cards had been deactivated. The pool had a green color to the water and the hot tub was out of order with a pea pod in the bottom. The floor around the pool is crumbling. The breakfast was mediocre. The building itself is old and worn out. Do not stay here!

First let me start by saying the staff was great - helpful and friendly but I sensed that they were worked pretty hard. The front desk greeting was by someone who was doing laundry, perhaps some of the fall out of being short staffed due to Covid! The rooms were "meh". It was adequately clean but there was a bit of an odor that never quite dissipated during our stay. The pool - eeeew. I could rate this a 2 star because of the pool but figured that would be unfair - but worth noting if you have kids that want to swim. While the hot tub was clean the pool was in some dire need of attention. The side tiles were filthy and the color was a swamp green. My kids are not too picky but chose to avoid it. Otherwise, if you need a one night layover with no swimming pool, this place will suffice.

I was very disappointed with this stay. This was a planned stop for my 5 year old & I. As a single parent I saved for a stay where she could swim after a long day of driving. First off the sign states pool open 7:30-10. Great! Second sign says hot tub is broken. Ok no problem. But we get checked in and get down to the pool & it was colder than the polar bear swim I did in January. I could not put more than my ankles in as it actually pained my joints. My daughter jumped in and lasted maybe 5 minutes. When she walked out she went to the front desk & asked if they could turn up the pool to warm. He laughed at her and told her to have a bath. I was fuming but let it go and we went to our room. The next morning I waited in line for almost 2 hours to get breakfast as the 5 or 6 table area was so jammed no one could move. To top off they ran out of stuff. So my daughter asked to swim again & I reminded her it was cold but she loves the water and wanted to try again. Maybe they turned it up. This was around 9. We got to the door and it was locked. Umm? So off my daughter went to ask for a key. The guy at the front desk told her to go to the public pool as he didn’t want to find the key. Wait what? I firmly said no you find they key please she wants to swim. 20 minutes later my daughter had another 5 minute swim. The room was not terrible but the stains on the towels and bedding suggested they need to upgrade some things. The noisy from other guest was enough to keep one awake. as well as the smell of the room. I will not stay at this hotel ever again & I wish i could have a refund of a night wasted. I would not recommend anyone...

Checked in at 3pm and decided to have a quick nap before heading out for supper only to be awoken by someone trying to get in our room around 530pm.I got up to see what was going on and when I got to the door it was the owner of the hotel with a tool in her hand that she used to pry the door open. No knocking, No "Hello is anybody in there?" I read a different review for this hotel for a week prior to our stay that stated ITEMS were MISSING from their ROOM while they were out.Our fridge was dirty, thick layer of ice build up in the freezer,a thick layer of dust on pretty much every surface. The toilet bowl and seat was clean but the base and floor around it had visible urine. Approached front desk and she was very kind and offered us a different room on the second floor saying it was way better and cleaner than the one we were already in. Got into the second room to find it wasn't much cleaner. Freezer had a bag of someone else's ice stuck to the build up of ice in it,furniture in front of the TV had dried food smeared on it so nasty I couldn't sit on it, a panel of glass was broke and missing from the door to the bedroom and the fire detector had no battery in it. Recieved an attitude from the young gentleman upon checking out. He apologized for all of our inconveniences although I felt he wasn't sincere and chalked it up to me being a complainer. Save your money and stay at the Best Western the...

UPDATE: The owners reply is inaccurate. I know exactly what happened. On our way , our car battery died. I had called to ask about their cancellation fees ( i feared it was the alternator) and she said if we cancelled before 6pm there would be no fees. We arrived shortly after 6pm - She clearly ran the card because she didnt think we were showing up ! Super ignorant. Why not call us and ask. Immediately after we checked in and saw our credit card and she had put it through , so that is a lie.

Review: We called ahead , asked if they took cash deposits for rooms because I was waiting for a payment to come off our credit card. The lady said yes but we needed a credit card to make a reservation but we could put down a 200$ deposit if we did not want to use our credit card for the the room. I hung up, went online, we made a reservation. We arrive at the hotel and say we want to pay cash & put a deposit for the room. The lady , who was friendly , but English was not her first language, repeatedly told us that we didn't need to put a cash deposit if we were paying with credit card. I was very firm that we wanted to pay with cash. I then realized it was because she had already ran our credit card through before we had even arrived ! Needless to say we were...
