Don't come to this hotel if you want a guaranteed parking space or privacy. One of the handymen knocked on the door of our room to do maintenance (caulking of the bathtub surround which is not an emergency at all, especially seeing as we were leaving the next day) and before we could open it or respond (literally 2 seconds) he just opened the door with his own key card and came in! Makes me think they have people coming into rooms guests are occupying even when they are not in the room, when they say they don't want to disturb you and we never opted in for room service. I was very disturbed to have someone come into my room all of a sudden using their own key, I could have been changing or in the bath for goodness sake. Then he looked in the bathroom and said its fine and left! There was also an event on at the hotel and the parking lot was so full they had someone stopping people from coming in. I was a guest with heavy bags. I had to phone the front desk to ask where to park and was told "the Metro should tolerate you". Yeah sure. And who has to pay the fine for overnight parking there. Parking was supposed to be included in the room! Now I had to walk 10 minutes with heavy bags to get to the hotel. If you don't have enough parking space organize extra somewhere nearby and shuttle people. Also they say breakfast is free but actually its just a $10 complimentary voucher towards breakfast and you then you are still expected to pay a tip ontop of that. Plus it takes 40 minutes to get food so its not grab and go, be warned. Lastly, multiple times there was no one at the front desk and there wasn't even a bell to ring. Room was okay, but for some reason had a shampoo, conditioner and soap dispenser in the shower which was completely empty. Remove those if you are not going...
Read moreI stayed for one night.||The adjoining restaurant, Gare 422, was the highlight of my stay. The food was high quality, reasonably priced, and conveniently located. As a hotel guest, I received a coupon for 10% on food items, which I used for dinner.||Hotel guests also get complementary breakfast at the restaurant. This is how it works. The prices on the menu are written as voucher + $X. Each hotel guest is allowed one voucher. There are items where X = $0, so if you do not want to spend extra money, you still have many options, and would only need to tip. Same with drinks - coffee and juice are not charged extra. Breakfast and dinner prices felt reasonable to me for the good quality.||Room was clean, functional, and spacious. Free outdoor parking. Walls were quite thin and our neighbors woke us up. Check-in was friendly and smooth. Lack of elevators to get to the second floor...
Read moreOverall stay was acceptable, shock came in the bill as they charged for deep cleaning because of make up on a face cloth. Admittedly I did wash my face, (how dare) assuming that the room amenities were there for my use… I do not wear a lot of make up and was very respectful of my room (ensure all garbage was disposed of and all towel/sheets were all in one central location- yes I even stripped the sheets for them) did not expect this charge for a little make up residue on a face towel… maybe provide a black towel for use? Also did not even try to remove the colour- stated they had to throw it out 🙄 which leads me to question the cleanliness of the sheets and towels… also apparently this is the most expensive face cloth on earth- would definitely not recommend- do not stay- feel like this is very shifty/shady and I question the integrity of employees. 0 stars will...
