Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House — Restaurant in St. Catharines

I AM GIVING TWO STARS ONLY BASED ON THE FACT THAT THE FOOD WAS GOOD OR EPSE THIS WOULD BE A ZERO STAR REVIEW* This was our second time trying this restaurant. The food was really great I just want to put that out there I thought it was on the expensive side but what isn't now a days, whoever was making the pancakes did a great job! However the service was horrible. It was a server with brown hair, She was rude and ignored us the entire time. There was only two other tables with customers!!! This is unacceptable behaviour! We had our two toddlers with us and she took forever to take our order just sat in the back talking to the blonde waitress. I asked for a coffee and my husband a pepsi and she brought two coffees. Sure mistakes happen I thought maybe she'd get better with taking our food order but she never came back! After fifteen minutes of sitting there my husband has to go ask her to take our order while she was still talking to the blonde. Then she took our order I asked for a refill on my coffee but again she never came back... When she brought the food (which only took maybe ten minutes that was great again of the kitchen staff) she realized she didn't bring me more coffee so she got me my refill then again never came back. Didnt ask how the food was if we wanted refills nothing. My husband again had to go get her because we had an appointment at nine and she just acted like we wernt there like purposely ignoring us? So he had to ask to get take out containers. She asked if we needed the machine we said yes she put it down and walked away. There is no reason to be rude like this. If you don't like working in the service industry then don't? Will not be returning as this was the second time we've had a bad experience with the servers being rude. Will try the one on bunting road next time since the food is really good and the kids loved it. The manager needs to really consider who they're hiring as this is lost business for them.

Edited to add the first experience we had was coming in and waiting and being completely ignored. While we were looked at by two waitresses no one came to seat us and they weren't even half full. It really sucked as we'd take both kids out of thier car seats and everything but after waiting for over five minutes and being completely ignored like that we left. We were hoping it was a once off that's why we decided to try again since I didn't want to judge them based off of one rude experience. Sad that it happened again.

(We spent over 50$ today I did not leave her a tip as she was not only a bad waitress she was also blatantly rude to us)

There is multiple bad reviews of thier wait staff. Why is nothing being done about this? If they can't do thier job with a smile and actually DO THIER JOB like coming to the table asking how the food is checking on thier customers then they shouldn't be...

Came in for breakfast with my child on a Sunday. It's usually busy on a weekend, but that's expected. They had a waitlist, but we got our table in 5 minutes. The first mistake was that they didn't give a kids menu and crayons like they usually do. When I got our menus, we ordered. I must say it took them 20 minutes to serve our breakfast. I followed up with our waitress on the food and she gave an arrogant answer that the restaurant is busy and it has been 14 minutes 🙄. She didn't even reassure us that the food is on its way and apologize for the wait. The table next to us sat down after we did and got their food before us and were finished, and we were still waiting for ours. I felt they may have forgotten our order. When we finally got our food, the bacon was waaaay overcooked, and scrambled eggs were flat and sprawled out. There was no presentation in the food and it seemed it was thrown onto the plate. The owner came by to top up my coffee and asked about the food. I told her the food too so long to come out and it has gotten a bit cold. She firmly said we cook it fresh. Anyways, we had to use the restroom. We left our belongings on the table so they know we're coming back. When we got back to our table, they started clearing it! The waitress came by and told us what happened and had to stop the girl who was cleaning. Mind you, this was only within 5 minutes. The table next to us were seated five new guests and they had to tell the girl that we're coming back. That's when I had to address the issues with the owner. It was beyond ridiculous on their service and quality of food. I mentioned to cook a new round of our order, pack it to-go and not paying a dime! Funny enough, our food came within less than 10 minutes! Even the table of five next to us had their food come out in 10 minutes and had three people serving them! It showed that how careless they were in their service and not made the experience better. Will not be returning to...

My boyfriend and I visited June 22nd, 2025 in the morning to start off our day of celebrating our 1 year together, I ordered the steak and eggs and he got the eggs benny with ham. When the waitress brought me my plate I was immediately taken back by a rotting smell.....the plate hadn't even hit the table and I was concerned by what I was smelling. The waitress left and I thought maybe it was just a spice or something I wasn't aware of(I'm sensitive to smells so I gaslit myself). I cut myself a bite of the steak and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted in my life, I again gaslit myself and asked my boyfriend to try it to confirm I wasn't crazy. He tried it and immediately spit it out. Turns out the steak was literally gone bad and we were tasting rotten steak. I notified the waitress and she handled it incredibly, she immediately took it away and returned to confirm we were right about the steak. She replaced it with bacon and corrected our bill. Honestly she was lovely and is doing her job amazingly. But this situation destroyed my appetite and even the mention of steak makes me want to vomit. I can't believe their kitchen allowed this, it's basic food safety practice. I used to be head cook of a restaurant and I can't fathom the level of negligence to get to the point a rotten steak is served. I have never in my life been a customer to nit pick or send food back but this was next level and truly ruined my first experience eating at stacked. I can't say I will ever eat at stacked again and I pray a day comes I can eat steak again without feeling disgusted.

Atmosphere: very loud as it's a large open space, very very hot, limited seating available. Otherwise the service was fast and we were in and out quickly and the staff...
