As you stroll down the streets of White Rock, BC, nestled near the delightful Caprice Movie Theatre, you'll find Maple Sushi, a gem that serves the most authentic Japanese cuisine in the area.
Stepping into Maple Sushi is like stepping into a serene oasis. The décor subtly whispers Japanese elegance, providing the perfect backdrop to the culinary journey that awaits. And, oh, what a journey it is!
From the moment you're seated, you're enveloped in warm hospitality that is inherent to Japanese culture. Every staff member beams with a genuine smile, their attentiveness raising the bar of service higher than Mt. Fuji.
But the heart of Maple Sushi, without doubt, is the food. From delectable sashimi that melts in your mouth, to expertly rolled sushi that strikes the perfect balance between rice, seafood, and condiments, each bite is a testament to the mastery of their sushi chefs.
The freshness of ingredients is clearly a priority here, with each piece of sushi and sashimi delivering a clean, vibrant flavor profile that lets the quality of the seafood shine through. Their sushi menu has both traditional and unique creations, catering to both purists and adventurous foodies alike.
In particular, the Maple Roll is a must-try. Its harmonious combination of fresh salmon, avocado, and their secret maple glaze, creates a fusion of sweet, salty, and umami flavors that is nothing short of mesmerizing.
However, the menu isn't solely limited to sushi. Their tempura is light, crispy, and served piping hot. The teriyaki dishes, with the sauce masterfully balancing sweet and savory, are a symphony in your mouth. And for those chilly BC nights, their rich, umami-laden ramen is the ultimate comfort food.
Another noteworthy element is the sake list, with options that pair beautifully with their offerings, enhancing the dining experience.
In conclusion, Maple Sushi, with its tantalizing food, impressive service, and cozy ambiance, is a standout in White Rock's culinary scene. A dining experience here is not just about satiating your hunger, but about immersing yourself in authentic Japanese cuisine and culture.
So, next time you're catching a flick at Caprice Movie Theatre, consider extending your evening at Maple Sushi. Trust me, your taste buds...
Read moreWe went here for dinner before a movie after not going here for years after a bad experience where our family got sick after eating here.
We showed up 1 hour and 20 minutes before our movie and placed our order right away! Our order consisted of 4 basic rolls and tempura so it wasn’t massive. We ended up having to cancel our 7 year old daughter’s dinner order because at the 1 hour mark they had only brought out a portion of our order (3 of the 4 rolls no tempura). The restaurant was quiet when we walked in and got busier after our order was placed, several tables around us were complaining about missing items they’d ordered. Tables that showed up and ordered after us were getting items we had ordered.
To top it off I had to leave mid way through our movie as I threw up, not saying it was the sushi that caused it but I’m also not saying it wasn’t. I felt fine the rest of the night.
Gave 2 stars because the price was reasonable as far as Japanese food goes. The service is truly disorganized...
Read moreI have been ordering from maple sushi for years and years. They are nothing to write home about but consistently “good” quality. The amount of food you get with their dinner box orders is why I continue to order from them. Their sushi itself is of medium quality.
Edit, response to the owner: I order and eat a lot of sushi, it's one of my favourite foods. In no way am I a sushi chef or a trained food expert... But the order of all the rolls I've received from Maple Sushi have had an abundance of rice in the rolls, and less of the filling. The imitation crab in California rolls has a slightly "off" taste. More times than not the avacado in both the California rolls and Avocado rolls have been browning and overly ripe. The tuna and salmon in rolls have a very strong fishy taste and do not seem fresh. The dynamite roll has, in contrast, been smaller than the California rolls! Very odd kitchen choices for the "Best...
