[I generally don’t write food reviews, but today’s experience made me share it]

Travelled from US to try ‘authentic’ Indian food to Canada, and was not disappointed. I had pretty high expectations (traveling 3+ hrs and crossing the border just for the food) and gosh, what a nice way to start the day with tasty food. H

Details: We ordered

Amritsari Aloo kulcha Amritsari Mix kulcha Pav bhaji Chai Salty lassi.

All of them were amazing.

Details on food: The kulchas were ‘soft’ and hot with steam coming out when a bite was taken. They were generously stuffed with Aloo and mix veggies. The flavor was perfect.

‘Sirke’ wale onion were providing perfect tanginess to the savory combo of kulcha+chole.

Add hot chai with it…. And the combo became what I was looking for. Mouth watering na… haha

Pav bhaji’s Pav were soft too with right amount of crispiness and butter. I really loved the sweet and tangy green chutney with it. I have not had that chuttney at any other place before.

Some other service details: We had a 3 year old with us. And parents would understand difficulty of enjoying good food with toddler. But that was not the case this time. The servers were thoughtful and they gave us coloring book and color to keep our little kiddo occupied. They also graciously accepted our request to not put butter on kulcha and served it on side. Thank you so much for looking after us.

I highly recommend this place and would encourage people to come empty stomach for optimum...

Absolutely Pathetic . We are hosting a house party next month and thought let’s check out this new Indian restaurant near our place ,if we like their food we’d cater from them. So we went for dinner to Ustaad g 76 .Online they say Restaurant is open till 11pm but when we reached and were seated at 9.25pm the server said that the timing posted online is “Incorrect” also the phone number online is “Incorrect” and they close at 10pm so the kitchen closes in the next few minutes. Since there was still time left we placed an order for appetizer and then a few minutes later for the mains. The server was adamant that we order everything together since the kitchen would close in the the next few minutes and we should be out by 10pm.

The owner has advertised everywhere about the new restaurant opening in south Surrey but doesn’t really care to post the “correct timing and phone number “ which is absolutely basic for a business to function.Then the staff forces you to order before kitchen closes at 9.30pm , as per there actual non posted time of 10pm instead of 11pm (posted online).We cancelled our mains , paid for the appies and left. Spacious breathable place, very very friendly service and to top them all,great tasty food. The Kulchas and Naans are just taste bundles. Glad that we found this place. Spice lovers should definitely try the Bullet Naan..will come again..n again.. ##So we kept going again and again(8 times in past 2 months) and the Kulchas kept amazing us..2 weeks back we had biryani and wow, it was nothing short..the spice mix and the quantity of protein in it was worth every cent..I went back the very next day to devour more biryani and was satisfied again.I was so swept away by the taste that I couldn't hold off myself from asking a "what's this" question about the spice to the staff who served me Unfortunately , yesterday, we went to dine in(we always dine in) we ordered biryani and it was totally different. Different spice mix, very less quantity of protein and it tasted like a typical biryani from any other restaurant - rice mixed with lot of chilli spice. Not sure whether it was a different chef or so, but we are not okay paying the price of the biryani for what we had yesterday when the place did served us awesome recipe some days back. We will try it one more the next time we go, and if it is the same as form yesterday, won't risk ordering...
