As I write this, my husband and I sit in our cozy One Bedroom Suite awaiting to grab the complimentary shuttle to Pearson airport to fly out for our upcoming Celebrity Cruise!! ||We absolutely love this hotel and for a few reasons: the location, the use, ease and access of the complimentary shuttle to Pearson, to the staff and there are many mentions, to the Marriott Beds! ||Upon arrival we’re always greeted with a smile, a hello and good conversation with/from Joseph, Valet-Concierge. To the front desk staff, with whom have always been kind, and welcoming whether when I call in or upon arrival, Sarah and most recently and with whom checked us in yesterday afternoon - Sabrina!! We arrived early, 330pm and Sabrina advised us that the room was not quite ready and that she would put a call in to have it assessed and once completed, she would personally deliver the room keys to us, in the Club M Lounge. As Platinum Elite, or higher or if part of your booking, get access too. The minute I received “your room is ready” notification, Sabrina was almost in front of us handing us our room keys, in Club M lounge. Talk about exceptional service. ||I reserved a basic room on government rate, and as a Platinum Elite Bonvoy member used one of my Nightly Upgrade Rewards, awarding us the 1 bedroom Suite; one of the other perks of being Platinum Elite is an offering by Marriott Bonvoy of 1 of 5 options for annual choice gift. I chose, 5 Night Upgrade Rewards. This was formerly called “Suite night rewards.” I, not unlike many, commented about its name, when asked by, and about Marriott Bonvoy program as, one wasn’t necessarily offered “suite” upgrades. It appeared deceiving, as its offering is, “from” premium room to “Suite” and not just “Suites.”|Always, when at this hotel we much prefer either the Executive Larger King bed Suite or the 1 bedroom King Suite. Sure most of the rooms are in need of updating but the staff more than make up for it. ||The staff make our stay exceptional making it feel like our home away from home. ||In the Club M Lounge, Silvie is much like family always welcoming with a hug, a smile and genuine care and conversation about life. She’s a gem 💎 ||To the housekeeping staff, Cynthia with whom provided me with thee best deep sleep pillow spray, as it truly works, for me! Anything one asks for, is always provided with a smile, expediency and genuine care!! ||This has been our preferred airport hotel for years, and for reasons mentioned above. We’re reserved for our return, Feb. 19th and although I have not applied a Nightly Upgrade Reward, I’m positive 🫶 the staff will make sure our stay is exceptional and maybe just maybe as requested place us in one of our preferred rooms - Executive King Bedroom suite or the one we’re in now, 1 bedroom Suite! ||Reserve!! And, for the staff! It’s our home...

Read moreOur flight from Delhi, India arrived at 4:40 am. We flew Air Canada. We started from Kolkata, India, to Delhi and then this fifteen hours plus flight. Then we were connecting to Atlanta, Ga, USA. Our 7:50 am flight got canceled after two hours of waiting. Air Canada arranged for hotel, transport, food, and everything and gave us a choice. Being a Lifetime Titanium member with Marriott, I opted for Marriott, our home away from home. Being tired, jet-lagged, and exhausted, I called Marriott at Toronto Airport and asked if we could check in a little earlier than 2.00 pm and introduced myself and my Marriott status. I asked for a room for myself and my handicapped wife. From the moment we walked in, it seemed the agent who checked us in wasn't the best Marriott ambassador. I know my privileges and she took away everything I championed in my dirty years of Stay in the United States, in one second by telling me I was not entitled to any of the Bon Voy privileges because I was using an Air Canada voucher. The vouchers were given because my wife and I were Business Class, priority passengers. I opted for Marriott because it is my home away from home, whenever my wife and I leave our home in Roswell, Georgia. We spend six-seven months in India, every year, since our retirement. Whenever the opportunity arose, we always checked into a Marriott property. Our grown-up children and their family to opt for Marriott property whenever and wherever possible. This was not expected. For every property we visited, or do visit, the General Manager made it a point to meet physically or make a courtesy call. Even a one-day stay has been greeted with the usual Marriot welcoming kit. This agent did not even tell me that there was a concierge or a club where people of my Bon Viy status were given cocktails and snacks. The doorman understood and told me, and so did the lovely waitress who wanted on ys at dinner and told us the same. Other senior agents also seemed to let this Marriott rep simply misrepresent herself to someone who has embraced the Marriott group of hotels all over the world as his home away from home. Next time, I will let Air Canada know that their vouchers are given to their esteemed passengers transforming them into a second clascitizensen. There is more, but my canceled flight from yesterday seems to be on time today. I got to go home to...
