NEGATIVE 5 STARS FOR GREEDINESS, FALSE ADVERTISING, A COMPLETE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, AND THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE (so bad we didn’t even stick around for the food).
My husband and I saw on the website that the restaurant offered private party rooms, so one week in advance I booked one for a party of 19 people for his birthday. We arrive 10 minutes early only to be told by the owner that our room was given to a walk-in simply because they were a larger party. He then backtracked on his booking policy stating that they do not book rooms, private party rooms are free and are thus not guaranteed, we can pay a $1,000.00 deposit to book a room, the open dining area we were escorted to is a room, and this is the way he does and has always done business. The cherry on top was when we were told, and I quote, “A party of 50 supersedes a party of 20; that’s just common sense.”
It is false advertising to state that private party rooms are free only to expect that deposits be paid to guarantee rooms. The website clearly states, “Book your parties/events; Free private rooms.” The website does not state, and we were not informed by staff during our phone calls, that rooms will automatically and without notice be surrendered to larger parties nor does it state that deposits are required to guarantee rooms. We would’ve been happy to pay a deposit to guarantee our room, but we were not informed of any need to do so. We also would’ve been happy to find another restaurant, but we were not given notice that our room had been surrendered.
We were spoken to in an extremely condescending manner and blamed for the business’ failure to honour their booking policy. Both the failure to hold our reservation and the manner in which this issue was addressed were completely unacceptable. I have never encountered such a brazenly (short-term) profit-oriented business or been told by a restaurant that my business does not matter simply because there’s better business available to them, before. Based on the reviews, it is very apparent that a lack of professionalism and customer service skills is a common theme at this establishment. Moreover, I am extremely concerned that management has responded to many reviews but remained silent on the woman who stated she was denied service due to her service dog, and discriminated against in contravention of Ontario human rights law…
My husband used to drink at this lounge with his friends, but we are NEVER coming back here again. His birthday would’ve been ruined if it weren’t for Hooter’s who accommodated us last-minute. I strongly advise that you take your business elsewhere as ANY of the nearby bars and restaurants is...

Read moreI took my wife for the first time after work, we felt very awkward and uncomfortable seeing how the waitress were seated eating and drinking alcohol with customers, we saw 2 different servers seated in 2 different tables with single men around 60 years old. They were drinking the beer bottle and eating just like a customer, the main hostess was drinking beer with the man she was sharing her cellphone getting closed to the man sitting on his I don't have any issue with employees having a meal they are human like everyone but they have their designated place to eat on their break but drinking beer laughing and sitting on their laps is too much, this is unacceptable it just does't look professional at all, customers can take advantage of them and abuse them. We felt like we were on a strip club, seriously really bad enviroment, my wife was very uncomfortable in that place. I told the in charge and he justified the servers behaviours he said is normal because they may know those clients...and that if i went alone they may sit with me too but they may be afraid to approach me with because of my wife...he also said to me that it is not my problem very rude...what type of place is this? What type of justification is this? I've worked in customer service for years and i was always trained that you have to be be nice with customers but there must be boundaries and respect, what type of work is that that you can sit drink alcohol with your client and get paid, I also told our server and she asked me where i was from I said I am from Canada she said here in Canada is normal, I don't think so I have visit other bars across Ontario and Quebec and never saw this behaviour. The server suggest me to go to a restaurant instead, I was very disappointed. I just left without giving a tip for the bad service and bad atmosphere. I understood this place is for single or group of men and that is the strategy to keep them there by using this blond young girls approaching the client like hookers and making them spend money on them too. But is not a normal friendly-family bar like Jack Astor, Moxies or Hooters. I will never go there anymore. Food was tasteless as well and server were mostly taking care...
