The location and amenities here can't be beat if you want to be close to the city and have some nature around you (Capilano River & some greenery). It is very tight and if you're pulling a trailer, you will have a "switchback" turn pulling into/out of the drive on a fairly busy road, but the traffic was not too bad for us. The first spot we were given was too close for comfort and almost impossible to back into with the neighbors' awning out and picnic table on the other side, so we chose another spot (the manager had no problem with that). Getting back to that spot from the previous one was tricky though- almost jackknifed :/ (those spots were on a dead-end road facing the park fence & main road). But, we made it. A lot of the residents are residents! As in- they live there, so you may have potted plants and permanent fixtures to navigate between when backing in (all spaces are back-in), and they are narrow to begin with. If you're a novice RV owner/renter, you might need some ground-guiding to squeeze into your space. And your view is either highrises or trees- it is a border-of-downtown location, after all! But the people were friendly, place was very clean and well-maintained, pool & Jacuzzi were nice, and restroom/shower facilities are fairly close to all spots. There's even a small enclosed dog run with bags provided :) This is the fanciest office of an RV park I've ever seen! Not just a little shack or the owner's RV, but a permanent, well-designed building with office on one side, Jacuzzi/shower/pool area on the other. A AAA discount is offered, which will save you 10%, bringing the nightly rate to about $53 US for a 15amp full hookup spot. Not bad for the location, services & cleanliness of the park.

I stayed at Capilano RV park for 3 1/2 weeks in April. It is a really fantastic RV park. First of all, the bathrooms are modern with tile flooring and sky lights, and are kept impeccably clean! The showers are hot, and for all of April, the whole bathroom/shower building was kept heated. It was such a joy to not have to leap out of a steaming shower into cold air, dry yourself as quickly as possible, and scurry back to your RV. The staff are wonderfully friendly and down to earth. The location is unbeatable with all the amenities of being in the middle of a city right next to you (there is a mall just across the bridge that has a grocery store, best buy, dollar store, liberty wine shop, an AMAZING European deli....), while the mountains rise up behind you, a river runs beside you, and lions gate passes over the ocean in front of you. I spent many days hiking in the park and watching the ocean. Last of all, the RV park felt extremely safe and friendly so I had no worries or thoughts if I had to suddenly go the washrooms late at night, or if I was returning from a movie or drinks later in the evening. The sites are small, but you can't blame them when you consider the location being right in downtown Van. If you want to have a relaxing RV-cation with all the amenities, then you should book at Capilano RV!

My first time ever staying at an RV park as I'm taking a course here in Vancouver. I'm used to camping out in the bush so this is a totally new experience. That being said, I knew what to expect. The layout of the RV park is what you'd expect, being packed tightly next to your neighbors. Everybody either keeps to themselves or is friendly, so no complaints about neighbors. I'm a few nights in and haven't had anything to complain about, really. The staff are all friendly and the general maintenance of the place seems pretty good. The tile showers are a nice addition, and the pool and hot tub are great to have as well. Also, you can't go wrong with the ice machine. The location is top notch. Under an hour drive to Squamish, and under an hour transit to most places in the Vancouver area. Also right next to the Spirit trail if you prefer to get around by bicycle. Want to circle Stanley Park on the Sea Wall? It'll take ten minutes to get there. Given that you have a decent way to camp, this is by far the cheapest option in terms of accommodations in North Vancouver, next to urban camping which can get tiresome in a busy area. If I need to be back in this city for an extended period of time in the future, I'll be staying here again.

My family and my other relatives have been going here since 2011. Every time we come to British Columbia me and my cousins always look forward to coming here. I fondly made so many memories in this campground since I was 12. I'm 21 now and I think it's time to write down what I think after coming for so long. When you come into the campground, there's easy access to the lounge where the washrooms are (which is very convenient when you're on the road for a very long time). Checking in is pretty straightforward and access codes to the amenities are attached to the map they give to us afterwards. The staff are super friendly and desk staff are very accomodating with any needs we may have. The flow of the campground is also very smooth. There is never a time where I have to move out of the way for a vehicle when I'm walking around or vice versa. I really appreciate that there are a lot of shower and bathroom stalls and that showers are free. There are a lot of tables and places to sit all around the lounge and the swimming pool, along with plenty of outlets. One minor gripe I have with the swimming pool is that 9pm feels too early to close down especially when the sun's still out around that time during the summer but I understand that staff need to get home and if left unchecked can be a safety hazard if unchecked. It's safe to say that I will still be coming back in the future however I hope to see some changes made. Nothing I have to complain about is anything too major for me, but the campground is showing it's age and could use some some updates with regards to quality of life. The first and but most important change should be the washrooms. Though not terrible, it could use a bit of renovation and renewal of some things like the walls and the flooring. The pool could also be a bit deeper up to 2 meters at the deep end or even just add a smaller diving pool right next to it. The lounge could also use an electric fan or two sometimes especially on the extremely hot days when I'm doing some work in the lounge. Something I hope to happen in the future which is for the wifi to reach throughout the whole campground which I understand can have some problems in regards to reliable connections and speeds from my limited experience in computer networking and data communicaitons. Last but not least is that the campsites are starting to feel small. Though it is not a huge problem for me and my family since we use tents, I can see it being an issue when we bring our bigger tent setups. But I understand that there is very limited space being right next to the city and to a neighbourhood so I'm more than willing to give it a pass. I hear from other reviewers that the noise levels can be annoying at times since its right next to Lion's gate bridge and Marine Drive but that's not something to complain against the campground itself and more just the nature of camping right next or within the city. So despite my nostalgic connections and core memories to this campground, I'm willing to give it the honest and most objective feedback I can give it. I can wholeheartedly say I will come back to this site in the future and when I eventually have children, bring them here too and share the same memories I had and will continue to have here. I wish the best for the staff that work that keep this site running and the happy campers who decided to stay here and I hope to come back next...

Update: last night almost 11:30 pm a RV checked in and park right next to us without meeting the social distance requirement. They were talking loud and slamming doors until almost one in the morning. Again this shows me this park doesn’t CARE! They only force their rule on People of their choice. Definitely have to talk to the manager today. I truly think this RV park is poorly managed. And I think even one star is too much for what happen today. But, I’m giving two stars for the older gentleman who works there. I appreciate your help. Whatever happened today with the front desk made me do not want to come back again, who knows maybe after they see the review they will ask us to leave. Anyway, I called and try to make a reservation by phone but I was directed to making the reservation online. Since we are travelling with two RVs, we booked two sites are next to each other. Checked in today with no problem, front desk was friendly. However, everything start went wrong right after we parked and ready to relax. The front desk told us the person live next to us want us move to somewhere else, so we either move right now or the manager will make us move tomorrow. I was little bit shock since we just set up everything. Went to the front desk and try to figure out what did we do wrong to get us kicked to other sites. The front desk responded with the person next to you doesn’t want you there because you are not from here you are from out of town, since he lives here permanently So you need to move. Even you don’t want to he will talk to the manager and the manager will make you move. He got two sits ready for us to move even one is way too small our unit. My first response was WHAT, why do we have to move? We pay to stay here, too. Then the front desk Clark changed his tune, calling me very uncooperative so he can’t help me and tomorrow the manager will deal with me. Trying to work things out we suggest we both move to other empty sites that are bigger he refused said manager block those sites so he can’t do anything. And he also can’t put us next to each other due to the social distance. Question? Why did you let us book two sites next to each other at the first place and also checked us in. Finally we figured out two sites that we can stay with one empty site between us and also without the manager block. Guess what when we get to the site we find there are person parked right next to us, joke on us again. Went back, he finally gave us the manager blocked sites. It will be so much easier and save us a big time if he let us use those sites at the very beginning. Then, after a little chat with the person next door we knew he already told the management don’t put anyone next to him because the social distance. Why can’t the front desk Clark say that? What does he has to make it sounds so hurtful. Still think we might have to move again tomorrow since we parked in the Manager Block sites. Don’t think when you make the reservation online for the available site you want means you can stay in that site. Whatever happen to us might happen to you. We don’t matter, only people who live there permanently matter. At least that how I felt today. But, I still want to say thank you to the older gentleman...
