I have since been and all was quite good. Everything was clean, the staff was great and the food was all good. It seems they really have a handle on things again. I have upped my star rating to a more deserving rating for this Keg. ............. Is Covid a good excuse? July 16, 2021. We decided to visit the Keg to celebrate being able to eat out again. We were very excited to have a nice steak, after such a long wait. The outside entrance was dirty, but one could blame the landlord. The girl inside the front door said she would "see if we could get a table," with no reservation (at 4:00 opening) which was strange. After she amazingly managed to get us a table at 4:00 we headed up the stairs. They had not been swept. I came across two candy wrappers on the way up. We were the second customers of the day, so one can't blame that on a busy crowd. We were taken to our table. The hanging light fixtures were dominated by dusty light bulbs. Some were even burned out. I excused myself, to go the washroom, and found that one of two sinks had the handle ripped off and the drain plug removed. There was some sort of wall mount item laying on the counter, next to the sink. I returned to the table and received an iced tea that tasted like a very sugary, powdered iced tea. It also had a hint of an alcohol taste. It was a very dark colour. I order iced tea at almost every restaurant, including The Keg, but this was different. I'm sure there was no alcohol in it but it was a godawful iced tea. Our food arrived and my prime rib was damp and brown on one side. It seemed as though someone heated it in a cool pan. I thought, well, maybe it's because we came so early. My son's medium rare steak was rare and the blue cheese tasted very strange. My wife's Caesar salad was horrible. I've never experienced so much going wrong at a Keg, ever. It was sad and embarrassing. Looking around I noticed that all of the glass/plexi partitions between the table were dirty. The stairs, bulbs and partitions could easily have been cleaned with about 1 hour of quick effort. I was astounded that anyone would open with their restaurant in this condition. To top off the evening...as we were eating we noticed smoke in the restaurant. About 15 minutes later our server informed us that the fan in the kitchen had given out so they were no longer taking orders. She said we were lucky to have received ours. I must say, I was actually envious of those who had yet to order. I would have preferred their experience over our own. I'll wait a few months (as opposed the usual weeks) before trying this Keg again. They get one more shot. If I have this experience again I will know it was more than just Covid, or whatever, that caused this...

Hubby wanted to celebrate by going to The Keg for dinner. We live in Deep Cove and in the past have gone to the Burnaby location, but there were no reservations available at the time we needed so we decided to try the Park Royal location.
When we first arrived we were offered a table in a very busy location, despite my request for a quiet table, so I asked if there was anything quieter and we were taken to a much nicer and quieter area.
I ordered the Prime Rib, Hubby ordered a steak and our daughter ordered the chicken fingers from the kids menu. We also ordered the appetizer special, Lobster Gratine which was absolutely delicious - nice chunks of lobster with a lemony sauce and just the right amount of melted cheese. Our server Colin, was delightful, friendly and very attentive. A slight mistake was made with our order and both Colin and Nico, the kitchen manager, went out of their way to correct the mistake and took great care of us.
All of the food was excellent. The prime rib and steak was very tender, vegetables cooked perfectly and the large caesar salad tasty with a generous amount of shaved parmesan. Our daughter said her chicken fingers were some of the best she has had (she is a chicken finger connoisseur).
I am a fan of chocolate porters and stouts so when I noticed Strange Fellows Blackmail Stout on the menu I had to try it. It was rich and creamy with a very satisfying flavour. Hubby had the Sumac Ridge "Cellar Selection" Cabernet & Merlot which he thoroughly enjoyed.
For dessert we had the cheesecake, creme brulee and our daughter had ice cream with her kid's meal - all excellent.
We had a great evening and Hubby has asked if we can go back to celebrate his birthday in a few weeks.
Thank you Colin and Nico - you really went out of your way to provide an extraordinary experience and we really appreciate it!! Because of you we will be...

Despite several past disappointments at this West Vancouver location, we decided to give it another chance, especially since it was my fiancée's birthday. Regrettably, our experience only reinforced our previous negative encounters.
Upon entering, we were met with an unpleasant odor of sewage, prompting us to inform the staff. However, their dismissive reaction, coupled with laughter and a nonchalant inquiry about our seating preference, immediately raised concerns.
Once seated, our wait for service was agonizingly long. It took our waitress a full 10 minutes to even take our drink order, and another 10 minutes to deliver them. To make matters worse, we were relegated to the smallest table.
Throughout the evening, our waitress seemed woefully inexperienced and lacked basic service etiquette. She frequently avoided our table, leaving us waiting for extended periods just to place our orders. When the food finally arrived, it was disappointingly lukewarm, bordering on cold. My filet mignon, purportedly a signature dish, lacked flavor and tasted stale.
Overall, the entire dining experience fell far short of expectations. Whether it's a management issue or staffing problems, this location has clearly declined in quality. For those seeking a reliably enjoyable meal, I would strongly recommend exploring other Keg locations, such as our newfound favorite in Yale Town.We came here for our anniversary. I would say the service we got was 5 stars, they were nice enough to give us a free dessert (we were very grateful). The food 4 stars as appetizers were delicious the ribs on point. I was just disappointed in the quality of the steak as it was a filet mignon suppose to be top notch. They did good though, in my eyes they are more the fast food industry for steak. Definitely would go back just not paying for that steak again save my money for...
