Title: A Disappointing Experience at Ouril Agueda Hotel
I recently stayed at the Ouril Agueda Hotel and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Here's a breakdown of my concerns:
Hotel Location: The location is acceptable, but that's about the only positive aspect.
Room Condition: The rooms are severely outdated, with issues ranging from mold in the bathroom, numerous broken tiles, malfunctioning ventilation, and a leaking shower. The balcony suffered from broken lamps and overall poor lighting. The air conditioning repeatedly stopped working, and the bed was in a dreadful state, shedding faux leather pieces. TV is working poorly.
Cleanliness: While the room cleaning staff did their best, it only slightly improved the situation.
Breakfast Disaster: The breakfast was a catastrophe. Yogurt and milk were inadequately cooled, and the limited spread was not only unappetizing but also unhygienic, swarming with flies. Simple measures like using sealable containers could easily prevent this.
Service: The only positive note was a friendly waiter who served excellent coffee.
Fitness Center: The fitness center did not meet basic cleanliness standards, and the promotion of it as such is misleading.
Whirlpool: The whirlpool was unclean, likely due to the fact that it is not possible to use the shower (now it is part of the restaurant/ bar and you just can sit there)
Conclusion: In conclusion, the stark contrast between the images presented and the reality experienced is disappointing. This was more akin to a misleading Tinder profile than a pleasant date. I would strongly advise against booking here and suggest considering the Oasis White Hotel for a more promising stay. Ouril Agueda Hotel falls short of expectations and feels like a...

room appears relatively clean (however, still stains on furniture, walls, remote)
staff is not friendly, dont expect a smile or a "hello" when you enter hotel is very noisy, you hear the other customers and when they clean the rooms it sounds like construction works in the hotel -only one TV channel in the room we had low water pressure breakfast is not good and serves in an annoying way by someone who does not communicate in any way or smiles. Leading to confusing situation while the rooftop bar could be nice, it was closed both times we wanted to go up there to see the sunset, which is just unfortunate. The third time during the evening we went there, basically every appetizer was out and we couldnt get the cocktails we wanted. Pina Colada was made with old coconut flakes and with an ingidient out of a Siracha bottle (the garlic-chilli sauce - what the hell???). Whirlpool was could and turned off, so dont expect to hop in there they charge extra for the safe (why?)
Etc.
I had 5 different hotel/apartments in Boa Vista and this was the worst. While all other staff and management people I dealt with were very friendl, I did not feel...
Read moreThe hotel is nicely situated. However..breakfasts were disappointing, it took a constant effort to ask for the empty trays to be refilled, and to provide plates to eat off. The restaurant was overrun by flies entering through an open door. |There was no hot water for 3 days, and when I spoke to the manager, he said there was a problem with the electrics connected to the solar panels. I asked when it might be fixed, and was told he had no idea- the part was on another island waiting to come over. |We left after 3 days and went to Riu Karamboa Hotel. |No blame can be attached to Wagner, the manager. |I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. |I would also never use Loveholidays again. They're difficult to contact to complain, the call centre is in India so there is a language problem- and they've also recently dropped out of ABTA, so your holiday is not guaranteed. |I would also advise caution when booking with them- the holiday insurance they provide is by an extremely low rated company whose reviews are almost...
