Blu Marlin — Restaurant in Boa Vista

A TOTAL DISGRACE. I came into the restaurant in the morning in order to book a table and confirmed this in both England and Portuguese with the owner. I then heard him confirm this with his staff. I turned up at the restaurant at the time I booked and was told a table was not available for me. Why bother to try and support a small restaurant when they can’t even do you the decency of honouring a booking? It is clear they gave away my table carelessly. As for the manager, all he could say is “come back tomorrow”. Quite apart from the fact this is my final night and I had booked this place specially, I wouldn’t dream of going back. A total disgrace....

I visited Boa Vista at the beginning of 2022, and I still think about the Blue Marlin tuna steak my partner and I had at this restaurant. Hands down, it was the best meal I’ve eaten in my life — no exaggeration. Perfectly cooked, incredibly fresh, and packed with flavour. Ever since, I’ve been on a mission to find a dish that even comes close to comparing. So far, nothing has. If you’re in Cape Verde, don’t miss this experience...

We adore this place.....decent range of drinks at very reasonable prices - ask for mui grande cerveza if you can drink 2pints in one glass! Their food offer is super - not wide but all delicious.. especially fish dishes, which are usually caught in the last 24 hours or less. Their Carpacchio is fabulous - we love...
