The Casamarel Hotel — Hotel in São Vicente

Really bad experience, the service is not good. We ask for a taxi at 8 am and breakfast at 7.30 am as they suggested as we had our flight early in the morning. We had to eat in 5 minutes as the reception never communicated this information to the restaurant and even eat the rest of food of a table served way before us. Taxi was not there as they never made the booking. No one was at the reception and we had to run from restaurant to call someone to help. In the end we managed to call a taxi ourselves to come at 8.30 am. Running late to the airport. The owner likes to walk around the table at dinner table making sure everything is good while the Staff is not well trained.

It is not stressful to travel with a child.

It is stressful that the hotel didn't booked the taxi they say they would book to go to the airport.

Expensive hotel, in mindelo, they are much nicer hotel for better price. Price of this hotel is not good value...

We have been there twice, with the same impressions. Very warm and friendly welcome. Very spacious and well equipped room. Everything was working properly and well maintained. They want to be climate friendly without neglecting the hotel‘s luxury. The whole staff was always very friendly and polite, attentive and helpful. The breakfast was served (not from the buffet), which made us remember the good old times of hospitality. The quality was great. In the evening we had dinner at the restaurant. The menu was a mix between local and international cuisine, the printed one was supplied by a handwritten blackboard suggesting the offerings of the day. We had several dishes and all was cooked to perfection. So, nothing to worry about. The check out also fast and without problems. When we probably would return to Mindelo, this would be our first choice...

Hello - visiting the Cape Verde Islands and hopping between them . It’s the first time withought the kids as they have grown up so a bit special. Super lucky to arrive on the 50th year independence celebrations . Walked around the town today and all was quiet.||The hotel is some way up the hill, sitting above the harbour. views from the front rooms are great. the hotel was refurbished pre- covid talking to the Australian owner who we met tonight at the bar. Service has been nothing short of superb so wonderful. Room 3 with views over the sea beautiful. Prices whilst elevated against the locals fine. It’s been a lovely stay and have felt well nurtured.
