Mindelo Residencial — Hotel in São Vicente

We stayed here on two separate nights before and after a few days on Santo Antao. The hotel is centrally located so convenient for the ferry. There was a bit of street noise on Saturday night but the other night was very quiet. There's a small but attractive reception area and a nice stairway up to the rooms which are of a good size. In fact, ours was more like a small apartment, with seating and kitchen areas as well. The supply of hot water to the shower wasn't brilliant and seemed to struggle if too many demands were made on it by other guests, but that is the only real criticism. By far the best aspect of both overnight stays was the excellent breakfast, which is served on the third floor with views over the town. This was possibly the best spread we encountered on our trip, with lots of choice from fruit, ham and cheeses, cachupa and eggs and bacon, bread, pasties and cake, all...

This small hotel is in a great location to explore Mindelo - the staff on reception were welcoming and helpful when I arrived late evening (without my suitcase, which had got left behind on Sal!). ||My room, in an additional building over the road, was comfortable and there were beauty products in the bathroom, as well as slippers and a towelling robe (very welcome until my suitcase arrived the next evening)||The breakfast, served on the top floor of the main building, was excellent with a wide choice of both local and...

We stayed for 4 nights and it was perfect. The residential is beautifully decorated, the staff very polite, professional and friendly. Our room was quite spacious and had access to the balcony, it was clean and comfortable. The location is centrally with lots of restaurants and shops within 2 minutes walking distance.
