Aloha Inn — Hotel in Iquique

Me and my friends horrible experience with the hostel started even before we entered. We rang on the doorbell a few times and knocked and it seemed like the hostel was closed. It took a very long time for the owner to answer the door, and when she did it seemed like she didn't even want us there and seemed like she was annoyed with us (and we didn't even do anything!)||She told us she only has one room with 4 beds and we understood from our conversations with her over email that it was two separate rooms. We told her we were gonna check with a few other hostels around the area to find something more fitting, so we left and then when we tried to come back she didn't answer the door on purpose! She was offended from us because we wanted to check other hostels. It is funny because she sent us to check across the street in another hostel, which happens to be the hostel of her mother! Her mother was also awful to us, telling us to leave and saying that the room suddenly became "occupied". ||We do not know what we did to deserve such awful treatment when all we wanted was to have a place to sleep...

Purtroppo la nostra esperienza in questa struttura è stata pessima. Non si capisce bene se sia un hostel, un negozio con qualche camera in affitto, un bad and brekfast senza colazione o semplicemente la casa privata di una persona che all'occorrenza mette in affitto qualche camera. All'arrivo siamo rimasti sorpresi perchè effettivamente la struttura è dignitosa e modestamente pulita. Purtroppo però la madre della padrona da subito ha iniziato a trattarci in maniera maleducata infastidita dalla nostra indecisione riguardo alla possibilità di rimanere o meno. Il prezzo dopo tutto non è così economico e dopo due mesi di Cile le nostre finanze ci obbligavano a prendere con cautela decisioni riguardo ogni tipo di spesa. Alla fine abbiamo deciso di rimanere e mai decisione fu più errata. Entrati in camera ci siamo resi conto che le pulizie non erano state fatte, il letto era in ordine ma sul mobile c'erano cartacce e il cestino della spazzatura era pieno. ( in generale queste cose non ci infastidiscono, siamo abituati ad alloggiare in strutture a basso costo, ma questa non lo era. La camera, infatti, costava 30 dollari, e per trenta dollari, se permetti, il cestino me lo svuoti) Durante la notte abbiamo capito poi, che la struttura è quello che in argentina chiamiamo "Telo", ovvero un alberghetto a ore per coppie. La mattina quando ho fatto gentilmente notare alla padrona di casa che fino alle sei del non avevamo potuto dormire a causa delle urla delle persone della stanza accanto, la risposta che abbiamo ricevuto, ovviamente infastidita, è stata che lei non poteva farci niente se le persone hanno una maniera esuberante di fare sesso. Il concetto di fondo della padrona è stato : se si tratta di sesso non posso intervenire, ti devi sentire le urla fino alle 5 del mattino. Credo che il rispetto per gli altri sia dovuto sempre, e che se nella stanza centrale di una guesthouse qualcuno fa casino alle 5 del mattino, la padrona o chi per lei, debba intervenire esigendo un minimo di rispetto per gli altri ospiti. Non importa il perchè stiano facendo rumore, soprattutto ribadisco se si sta pagando trenta dollari la notte.||In mattinata poi siamo stati aggrediti per l'ennesima volta dalla madre della padrona per un futile motivo. ed è scoppiata la discussione. Sono interveniti personaggi strani che con fare minaccioso ci hanno obbligato a lasciare la struttura. All'inizio pensavo si trattasse di una discussione normale, poi mi sono reso conto che era meglio andare via; ci hanno minacciato e ho capito che non era il caso di mettersi a litigare seriamente.||Per concludere consiglio a tutti gli amici italiani di non fidarsi delle apparenze. Il posto a prima vista il posto sembra bello, e le persone ben disposte, Il realtà si tratta probabilmente di un affittacamere ad ore gestito da persone violente, maleducate ed aggressive. Ad Iquique si trova di tutto, ci sono mille hostel più economici... non vale la...

We arrived at 5 in the morning and the woman who runs it let us in and let us stay in another room (our room wasn't free yet) until check-in time and we only had to pay half the price.||The house has a well-equipped big kitchen (but not too clean) and they have a roof terrace which is really nice to sit. Showers are nice and warm. WiFi works perfectly throughout the whole building. The rooms have nice beds and even closets. ||The location is in the main street of the old centre. They also have another hostel on the other side of the street (I forgot the name...)||Only small downside: the house is mainly made of wood. This means that if you sleep on the ground floor you will hear people walking above you.||All in all: great, comfortable place with friendly and...
