El Camino Hotel — Hotel in Iquique

The room was OK but we think it was way too expensive for what it had to offer and also they have two different wages in reception per night, one is in USD and the other is in Chilean pesos but our doubt was that the prices in USD are much more expensive than if you pay in Chilean pesos for the same room, we realized that after 2 days of stay and the recepcionist did not know how to explain the difference and she gave us a little discount which we thought was weird because if we had not realized the change of currency they would have charged us way more than what...

Reservei na véspera quando, saindo de Arica, decidi ficar 2 dias e 3 noites em Iquique. Desejava um hotel apenas razoável já que eu estava de moto pela Argentina, Perú, e Bolívia há quase um mês, e a grana estava contada. Reservei o El Camino pelo Booking. Aí está uma agradável surpresa de DUAS estrelas ! As estrelas que classificam os hotéis levam muito em conta o luxo ostentado pelos salões, áreas de estar e recreação, recepção, serviços de "spa", piscinas, manobristas, ascensoristas, restaurantes e bares, corredores com tapetes e outra firulas mais. Pois bem, o El Camino não tem nada disso, apenas o essencial. Tem tudo o que um viageiro precisa e usa de verdade. Um ótimo e amplo quarto com mobília moderna, mesa de trabalho, cama confortável, e um banho sensacional em banheiro grande, água quente, jato forte, toalhas, shampoo, cremes etc. O sono foi tranquilíssimo, com o ar condicionado perfeito, e a rua com mínimo ou nenhum barulho noturno. Há um terraço muito amplo onde é servido o café da manhã, aliás razoável, e de onde se tem vistas bonitas da cidade e montanhas, cujo acesso é por escadas, não há elevador. De lá eu avistava o Hotel Gavina Sens, onde eu e minha esposa ficamos por ocasião de outra volta de moto, cujo custo é algumas dezenas de dólares mais caro, mas que no momento não fazia sentido. Estacionei a moto na rua, em frente à portaria, pois não há outro local para estacionar, mas a zona é boa, parece segura. A localização é excelente, a umas poucas quadras da praia, rua com casario preservado, cercada de mercadinhos e bares pequenos. Então é isso: hotel simples mas o que interessa está à...

Very well located close to the center and no problem for the price. The room is clean, the bedding is good and so are the WiFi and the bathroom. Also not to noisy in the night even so the hotel is basically over a busy street. Front desk quite efficient but certainly unfriendly. Breakfast minimalist and unfortunately served in single use containers, what a waste. No parking so you have to find a spot on the street (which was easy) . Ok for the reasonable price but not...
