After having a terrible experience at my original hotel in Iquique, I happened upon this hidden gem while exploring the beach area. It is located across from the beach on a pedestrian-only wide boulevard. The facade is nondescript, but once inside I was most pleasantly surprised. I asked to see a room facing the beach. The hotel has recently undergone a stunning refurbishing and modern addition. The room was very bright. Large floor to ceiling windows, one of which had massive view of the beach. No dressers, but open closet cubbies. Small built in desk. Wide screen wall mounted TV. Wood floors. The bathroom had floor to ceiling slate tiles, large glass enclosed walk in shower with "rain effect" shower head.(This is rare for the hotels in Chile)! Everything was spotless, and had that "new hotel" smell.||||I booked for 2 weeks. The staff were amazing! All were very friendly and helpful. After the 2nd day we were on a first name basis. ||One night I was not feeling well. The owner (Miguel) had a waiter bring a light dinner up to my room, (room service is available). These people went above and beyond for me on many occasions. The food is well prepared. Breakfast is typical for hotels. Cheese, meats, cereals, pastries. Wait staff is attentive and enjoy practicing their English.||The hotel has a bar (great pisco sours) and diningroom/lounge in its open atrium. Many (friendly) guests congregate there in the afternoons and evenings.||||Note: There is no pool. The rooms are not equipped with mini fridges or coffeemakers.||||Upon checkout there were many sincere hugs and best wishes all around. I'm already...
Read moreWe stayed here for 4 nights. Unfortunately we checked in the day after a major wind storm that knocked out power to much of Iquique (and blew down many billboards). So we didn't have power for the first 36 hours of our stay. That having been said, the staff was very apologetic and the owner bought everyone in the hotel pizza and wine (a surprisingly good combination). We enjoyed a very spacious triple with a private bathroom. Unfortunately, our room was right next to the outdoor common area, which was noisy late into the night and at breakfast. ||||A decent breakfast and strong wifi are included in the price, which is about average for the city. The location is excellent - across the street from the beach and right on Baquedano, the main tourist...
