Hotel Manuel Rodríguez Express — Hotel in Iquique

Stayed here one night with my girlfriend coming from San Pedro. We arrived early, and the owner saw us walking with our backpacks looking for a place to stay. He offered us a single room (one bed for both of us) for 20.000. Which was great cause we're travelling budget :) Room and bed were about just big enough for 2, with a private bathroom. We could check in immediately, and we even got breakfast the first day we arrived, free of charge! Great hospitality. We were also free to wait in the reception area after checkout when we had to catch a bus to Arica at 2.00 AM. But we felt we had used the guy's hospitality long enough. Iy's definitely not got the backpackers mentality, but it's for sure a very good place to sleep one night.|P.s. also compared with Bajo hostel nearby. Great relation between price/location, just two or three blocks from the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful in everything we asked.||Clean, peaceful and quiet. As if it weren't cheap enough, more on top the breakfast is included.||It seems they renewed facilities short time ago and it felt like everything was new. great personal service - a friendly backpacker style accommodation fitting for the laid-back surfie lifestyle of Iquique, although there was one staffmember concerned about being barefoot in reception which was strange in the circumstances.
