Hostal La Victrola is nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood that is approximately 4 blocks away from the action. It is an older home that has been converted into a hostel and the owner shares it with guests. Carlos, the owner, is very pleasant and will provide great ideas about things to see and do in the area. In addition, the hostel has a small patio and garden that is shared by all with a shared bathroom in the back.||||My room was clean with a comfortable bed. The one minus is that guests often times will stay up late and talk in the garden and the noise echoes into the room. One night I had to get up after midnight and request that people be quiet. This is something that management should monitor more closely. The same thing happens with the shared kitchen with noise. ||||My other problem is that for $30US, the room should come with a towel. I could rent one if I needed it, but for the price it should come with the room automatically.|||| My other issue was the hot water. While it is warm, it is definitely not hot...and if others made it there before you, you won't have any.||||While I enjoyed my overall stay at Victrola, I can't give it the highest marks as I have stayed at hostels in other places in Chile for 1/2 the price with as good if not...

Shame it's not closer to the beach but that would only make it more expensive and you can't have everything! ||Also, breakfast isn't offered but there is a big supermarket close by so again, it's something you can easily...
