Hotel Serena Centro — Hotel in La Serena

The rooms here, or at least the one I was in, was in need of some tlc. The paint on the ceiling was pealing off and there appears to be water damage. The rooms only have hot water in the morning and the walls are pretty thin. The central courtyard area is nice but due to the close proximity of the rooms I felt like I was invading people's privacy when I was sitting in the area. The breakfast is ham, cheese, juice and coffee. Not very exciting. For the amount you pay you would expect more, but then again everything in La Serena is over priced. La verdad reservé el mismo día por viajar apurado de Antofagasta a Chillán. La ubicación es muy buena, tiene el estilo típico antiguo de la Serena que le da un ambiente acogedor. Sin embargo se nota descuido en las instalaciones y al menos en la habitación donde me hospedé con mi familia la ducha del baño estaba en mal estado, además solo hay agua caliente en la mañana.|Incluye desayuno que es jugo, café o leche con tostadas, mermelada, margarina, una lámina de queso y otra de jamón. Noté que manipulan los alimentos sin guantes (enrollan el jamón) y me dio la impresión que el personal hace tanto funciones de cocina como mucama.|Tiene estacionamiento a una cuadra, cerrado, pero es muy angosto y cuesta maniobrar, los calzos son pequeñísimos y lógicamente los vehículos quedan mal estacionados, dificultando el ingreso y salida de quienes quedan al final. Para colmo por la mañana al retirarnos había un vehículo entorpeciendo la salida y no sabían de quién era. Luego de preguntar a diferentes huéspedes y de hablar con los dueños, supieron que era de uno de los hijos de éstos. Lo llamaron y recién después de un buen rato se dignó a aparecer.|En general no fue la mejor experiencia, pero nos permitió pasar la noche para continuar nuestro viaje. No me hospedaría...
