This is not an international hotel and we have found so many problems I doubt that I will be able to mention them all: the linen was dirty, the blanket is way too thick and you will have no control over the room A/C, there is a ventilation center in the hotel and as there were older people and kids in the hotel during our staying they have set the temperature as around (26 degrees Celsis) - this is burning hot for an average of 5 degrees Celsius outside. There is no natural ventilation, room and bathroom were quite smelly and no windows were found in the room. There was a hair dryer however there is no energy plug in the bathroom meaning that my girlfriend had to dry her hair inside the burning bedroom. Nobody speaks English, communication worked out only via Google Translate and poorly helped as the issues were not solved. They have not changed our room. Wifi connection needs a Chinese SIM Card to get connected, international phones will not connect directly as you need to receive an SMS confirmation code. I don’t recommend this hotel as nobody has solved our issues and I as cannot see foreigners get along with those issues by...

Read moreI booked this hotel because it was a "traditional Chinese courtyard-style hotel" & the pictures looked amazing. When we arrived - not only had it changed its name but also everything about it. It's clean & tidy but has lost a lot of its appeal. When I look at these photos now, I have a problem recognising anything. It was interesting staying in a hutong area, but it was further away than I anticipated from the attractions listed & also the Metro stations. On reflection, I wouldn't stay in this area again. There were no Western eateries anywhere close. The room was OK - it had a token window but that just showed a wall with some branches in front of it, & bars across it. TV only showed programmes in Chinese. We didn't realise until the second morning that there was an upstairs - & that it served breakfast. Reception hadn't pointed this out to us, & the staircase is around a corner so not immediately obvious. Nice rooftop area for breakfast & it was really good -...
