Great hostel! Very central, Wonderfully helpful staff went above and beyond! Warm and friendly environment, easy to meet people in the resto-bar and find adventure buddies. Bed very comfy (in single room).

For food I recommend skipping the hostel resto (unless you're a westerner who needs familiar comfort food), & walking around the corner to the right, several restaurants there serve less expensive, healthier authentic chinese food. Around the corner to the left u can eat donkey if that's something u want to try, as well as fine bao-tse (steam buns), & more.

Across that same street are regular and all-night groceries, and an inexpensive chinese massage place where i had a great cupping! "Bagua," 45yuan, i recommend this also! Easy to walk or take a bus to Beijing central rail station.

Saw the Chauyang Theatre Acrobatic show & Kung Fu Show, both great, the KungFu i got thru the hostel tour, tix cheaper that way, plus closer seats. Did the hostel's Great Wall tour to Multianu (spelling?) area and really enjoyed it, you can see new and old sections of the wall and Tony was a great tour guide. Also learned that it's possible to take a city bus to the wall for next to nothing, and then pay the 40yuan entrance fee and spend more time hiking on the wall. If you can get up early and spend the whole day, this is less expensive and allows you to take your time. But I have to say it was fun to go to the wall with people from the hospital, we all said that we hiked further because we were encouraging each other ;-)

The water pressure was great in the showers, contrary to some other reviews I saw. I was there in March 2018 and shower water was abundant. It's not the newest hostel but I found it quite reasonably clean. No kitchen for cooking one's own food, but when I asked for a tea kettle for my room they gave one to me at no extra charge😊 Also helped me with my large luggage to the 3rd floor. Like I said, staff were above and beoyond in spite of the long hours they work, I wish there was some system for...

Loved it!!! Rooms: nothing to complain about, washing basin, toilet and shower were separate and the sink was beautiful (HAHA) Staff: the receptionist helped me collect and keep my parcel and let me use their microwave (maybe for all hostels they do too). The male working there helped bring the food that we ordered (for my mum cuz she hurt her foot) to our room. There almost seemed to be a different staff each day but the 2 young ladies were especially nice and genuine :) Breakfast: they had western or Chinese option (for the Chinese option you might want to head down earlier). Portions were rather filling and food was good. There might be a wait tho depending on how many people there and I had to wait 40 minutes on one day but staff was apologetic so eh

In general it was a comfy location with nice people and good accommodation and would be a great option on vacation. Though it is in a “hutong”, which is somewhat like an alley and can be rather old, the hostel looks great with their decorations and stuff. The street nearby holds a couple of restaurants and groceries stores. Would really recommend!!!

Ps. On the second day it snowed and the view out the entrance was...

Good location for access to the city and lots of good places to eat withing walking distance.Staff were ok, apart from the lady at the front desk who barked at me when I arrived, demanding payment 'You pay, you pay' without even checking that I had already prepaid - She did apologise later, but as they say, first impressions count. The room was ok, quite worn compared with the pictures on the Trip.com website, which are not representative of the condition of the hotel, which is now quite bad, but the biggest let down was the Sky Garden, which was one of the primary reasons I booked the hotel - Please see the pictures included with this review and compare them with those on the Trip.com page - The Sky Garden was actually a rooftop dump! In the UK this is classified as false advertising and illegal. The furniture was broken, rubbish everywhere and even washing hanging out. Since the weather was very good, I was hoping to sit out and enjoy the sky garden, but this was not possible. When I asked about going to the Sky Garden, the staff were not even embarrassed to direct me to it!Hotel not worth the money and better...

This was our first hotel in China during our visit and we directly loved it from all perspectives. The location is nice, close to many site seeing spots, (street)food spots and a subway nearby to travel even further. The team is extremely friendly en always willing to help. Not all are capable of talking English, but with translation apps it always works. Rooms are nice and spacy, beds a bit hard for European standards. Nice and warm shower. Temperature in the room is also comfortable even in the freezing cold winter we were there. They even organized a very cosy and friendly christmas eve party for all their guests. It was big fun and nice to meet other guests from all over the world. I really recommend this hotel.

Good located place, big enough rooms which they clean everyday. English speaking and helpful staff, a bar downstairs which you can eat food as well. You can join the tours to great wall for 280yuan. So I have been to the Simatai part of the Wall with the hostel, no stops on the way like other tours to try to make you buy something. We had 3 hours on the wall which was more than enough for 10 towered Simatai part. You can pay 90 to use the cable car but it is easy and possible to walk as well. Definitely must visit the wall.
