This place is super convenient for family traveling with elderly and also toddler. It is well-equipped with washing and drying machine for laundry. The cooking hob & knob are provided too but there was no pots and pans provided in the unit for cooking. I didnt find out further if we are allowed to cook inside the unit but when i went to level B1 for coffees (free!) i saw there was anoher kitchen which is bigger that has pans and pots (but very limited, I only saw 1 pan). The plates provided in the unit are only 3 plates without any bowls, which is quite restricted when we dine in the unit by ordering food delivery. However, we managed it by using the food containers from our delivery. We did not approach the front desk to ask for more plates and bowls though. So i am not sure if they can provide. The front receptionist who work during night time during our stay is more warm and friendly than the rest. There was a morning shift staff whom I have not met, but heard from my family, that she gave a cute keychain to my kid, which i feel is a very lovely gesture.Having read that some taxis refused to drive into the hutong due to its small and narrow road has caused me concerns when i did the booking, but fortunately all the taxis we got managed to wait for us right outside our apartment. Meaning that all are willing to drive in.There are bicycle returning spots right outside the apartment which makes it so convenient for us to return the bicycles we rented using the online platform.Outside the hutong, there are shops like eateries which make it very convenient for us. We even took our brunch at "men ji mi fan" which serves very good "mi xian"(noodles) that i was looking forward to when i am visiting Beijing. My kid and elderly mum really enjoyed the stay in the apartment. They even enjoy chatting with the lady who cleans our apartment as she is really friendly and warm. There are 2 bathrooms in our 2-bed unit which again makes it super convenient for us during our stay. My kid loves the apartment as if its her second home. We like the coffee provided free at B1 as the fragrant is really as good as those at coffee shops. We visited B1 entertainment room for a few times and chill there for a short while. There is a pool table and a gym room right next to it.The stay is very peaceful and quiet throughout our 1 week stay. Reception and security guard are there 24 hours. There is even a postage room that keeps all our online shopping parcels which makes it very convenient to shop.I gave only 4/5 for facilities due to shortage of cooking utensils/bowls in our unit. But other than that, there is nothing else that is short of our expectations. Thanks to BASE apartment team for the...
Read moreI was only here for 3 nights, but had an extremely comfortable stay. The rooms are large and very well equipped - there is a fridge, microwave, kettle and a really good washer/dryer, which was such a blessing for me after a month of traveling. This is essentially a serviced apartment, but they also have a lovely lounge/kitchen in the basement, with a coffee machine that I may have used a little too much 🤣 It was good coffee and I was really glad for it at the start of a busy day. Their housekeeping staff is lovely as well, as is their security/doorman with the kindest smile. The reception staff went above and beyond to help me with my many queries. I had some delayed deliveries arrive at the hotel after I checked out, unfortunately, and although I'm sure my many requests may have been rather irritating as my friend in Beijing attempted to reroute/collect the late deliveries from the hotel, never once did the hotel staff convey a hint of frustration to me. They were so kind and gracious throughout, and I am genuinely grateful for that. The hotel's location is an absolute chef's kiss 🤌 There are 2 major subway stations at equal distance from the hotel, and you can pick the station based on which line you need. The hotel is located by the hutongs west of Dongsi, right at the end of the LongfuSi complex, which is essentially a long line of fantastic pubs, cafes, restaurants, and also functions as a community/park of sorts, so you will see lots of families and people walking their dogs in the evenings - I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but it's a very uniquely "Beijing" experience, not one you would experience out on the busy main roads. One of my favourite things was just walking back from the subway station and getting to immerse myself in this environment before arriving at Base. Also, I read some reviews saying it is inaccessible for taxis - this is not true, as there is a wide enough road for cars; your DiDi driver just won't be able to wait for you as there is no parking on the main street, so you'll need to be waiting for them outside. It was very convenient for my driver to pick me up when I checked out.Thank you to the courteous reception staff for putting up with all my queries and shenanigans! I'm genuinely grateful and hope to be back again very soon (hopefully next time with fewer questions, but...
Read moreThis in an unsolicited review. I have lived in Beijing for over a decade so I know the city well. Stayed for nearly a month. Fantastic service from reservation to check-out. I wanted to write this review because the extremely professional, kind, and hard-working staff deserve to be commended and rewarded: front desk, doormen, and housekeeping (special recognition to the team on the 6th floor) all go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay every day. It’s not hard to get from the airport. It’s also easy to walk to various subway stops from here or Didi taxi can easily reach you through English app. Food delivery and express deliveries through the apps are seamless and you can get the staff’s help with this if you don’t read Chinese. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice amenities as shown in the photos, e.g. washer in room, coffee machine, space for meetings, full shared kitchen with ovens etc to complement the small kitchenette in the room. Price is typical for this type of stay in Beijing. Hope to return in the coming year. Don’t hesitate to book for both short or long stays. Thank you to the staff and keep up the great work.
Update May 2025:
I have just had another great 3-month stay at BASE. We stayed west-facing this time and the view of the sunsets and mountains was beautiful. East-facing is also a great view of the sunrise and city-scapes, so it’s a win-win.
All of the staff - reception, doormen, housekeeping - have been fantastic and deserve bonuses and promotions from hotel management.
A special thank you to Jacky who manages long-term rentals; he worked extremely hard to ensure that I had a comfortable and smooth stay and deserves to be commended/promoted by the leadership of the...
