I revisited some reviews from 3-5 years ago where international guests, with non-Chinese names, had given this hotel as low as three and even one star. Common complaints were about the inability of the front desk and restaurant staff to communicate in English and outdated facilities. However, based on recent photos and my personal experience staying here, it’s clear that Prime Hotel Beijing has significantly improved, especially in terms of service. The English communication with foreign guests at the front desk and in the restaurant was seamless, and I found my stay to be very satisfying. Here are some drawbacks that need to be improved: (1) The Wi-Fi in the rooms is incredibly slow, struggling even with accessing local Chinese websites, let alone international ones. (2) The buffet downstairs is quite overpriced at 198 RMB per person: The coffee lacked the richness it should possess, presenting only a very bitter taste and texture. The canned oranges were somewhat bitter and tasted slightly stale. (3) Regarding food safety, the yogurts were left open which could easily allow droplets of saliva from other guests or dust from the air to contaminate the food. I suggest covering the yogurt containers and labeling them properly. PS: As someone born and raised in China, now holding a non-Chinese passport and having lived in many so-called developed countries, I’ve seen expensive hotels in way worse condition. For example, some five-star hotels in places like New York, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Orlando, Melbourne, etc, had outdated suites where I found cockroaches upon check-in, or the frontdesk servers cannot even find a spoon for me to allow me to have dinner, and the staff was clueless on how to handle such situations. Prime Hotel Beijing now offers a level of service that many hotels in developed countries should aspire to.

Exceptional Service and Comfort at Empark Prime Hotel, Beijing I recently stayed at the brand-new Empark Prime Hotel in Beijing and was thoroughly impressed. I was looking for a five-star experience close to Wangfujing Street and stumbled upon this gem. From the next day, David’s exceptional hospitality made me feel incredibly welcome. His proficiency in English and understanding of my concerns were invaluable. He even helped me order items using the delivery app, which I didn’t have, and answered all my questions about laundry service and more. David’s capability and friendliness ensure that I will return to this hotel, just to see him again. Other staff members, like Hank and Will and the person who helped bring up our bags were also very helpful, especially during laundry pickup and check-out. The rooms were modern and stylish, offering an unblocked view of the city, which was a delight. The air conditioning was decent, although it couldn’t go below 21 degrees Celsius. However, the bathtub provided a spa-like experience, making up for it. Housekeeping was exceptional, with the staffs always smiling and exuding happiness, reflecting a positive company culture. The hotel’s location, across from the Beijing Art Museum, is convenient for quick tourist visits, though the walk to Wangfujing Street is a bit far. The quietness of the location is a worthwhile trade-off. Taxis were generally easy to get, though they sometimes stopped on the road instead of coming in. Despite the amenities not being open past 10 pm and the lack of a sauna, the newness of the hotel and the outstanding service, particularly from David, make it a place I would definitely return to. Thank you to all the amazing staff at Empark Prime Hotel for a memorable stay!

We stayed here for a week. The hotel is not the newest and the interior decor is pretty dated, but we felt it’s good enough. Our rooms faced outwards, and we had a good view from the 6th floor. The room was pretty spacious, and with an ensuite toilet with a bathtub and shower area. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable and we managed to get a good sleep. Good range of channels on tv. Room maintenance is good. Facilities wise, there is a gym and pool. Counter staff able to speak basic English. The hotel is also located pretty close to the shopping area on Wangfujing street, and the nearest 24 hour convenience store is about 10 minutes away. The nearest train station, Dongsi, is also about 8 minutes away in the other direction. Tiananmen Square and Forbidden city are close by, about a 20 minute fast walk, or you could take public transport. Bus stop is right outside the hotel. Only downside is that although we got a non smoking room, we were still able to smell smoke along the corridor. I Guess that’s the thing with older hotels. Other than that, it’s worth the stay for the price we paid.

I stayed at this hotel for a week business trip in November. That was the most terrible and annoying stay in my life. To say that a guest here is just a source for pumping out money is to say nothing. And the most embarrassing is you cannot prove anything due to lowest possible level of English everywhere here - from reception to restaurants, bars, swimming pool etc. Most of the staff knows just few words - such as "hello" and "your room number and name" - when it comes to signing the bills. That is what you have to do here immediately and allover the hotel. All your endeavors to argue or to prove anything immediately meet a personnel's 'no English' phrase or just nodding without understanding in their eyes, as they really seem not to understand you. ||||As for us - we booked two rooms with two different periods of stay (My stay was one day longer) via booking com. When we arrived (in the night shift of reception staff), we were requested to pay the whole stay amount and did that with a corporate card. Also, they requested a deposit for two rooms which was twice as more as our whole staying. Next day, due to jet-lag we took a try to visit a swimming pool, where we were met by personnel who (by meaning of gestures) demonstrated us that our stay in the hotel is over. Embarassed we went down to reception, where they acknowledged a mistake in their system and seemed to change the data. Okey for a moment... At least we were admitted to the pool. ||There were many terrible episodes, but here's one for you - not to waist your time. During our stay we undertaken a dinner in a local premium Chinese restaurant at 2nd floor. To avoid waiting for meals (especially roasted duck) - at 6 pm we got down to the restaurant to preorder a table and meals. A young lady, poorly understanding our words, wrote down on a sheet of paper our order. We just pointed out pictures from menu for her. Then we almost oursleves put on her paper time figures: "20:00" and led her up to the table we wanted to book. She actively nodded with her head and we thought she really understood us. But we were wrong.||When we came down at 8, we saw an empty table. Waiters in national costumes, speaking not a word in English ran around us and could not understand, why we look unhappy and what we want. The lady who was taking order already left and our order was somehow lost. When we started calling a manager, they phoned someone and English-speaking manager appeared. We explained her situation, she cried at the waiters and they started running around again, fetching the meals. As for our duck - she said that it was misunderstanding and they could offer a half-duck(!) free of charge that would be ready in 45-60 min. The whole duck they can cook but we have to wait longer. Finally they cooked 1 and a half duck and brought it all on the table during the dinner. Since we considered it as an apologize we were partly satisfied. The dinner was paid from our deposit by the way. But beware - NONE of the waiters here speak English. The bills look so, that you cannot unerstand what's within!||However, it was not last issue in this hotel by far. I omit some of them, but one day before my colleagues were leaving (and I had yet one more day to stay), we went to the same restaurant again for a farewell dinner. This time lady at restaurant reception was English-speaking and preorder went smoothly. However, issue started after, when they said our deposit was over and they cannot close our bill for dinner. We tried to explain that my colleague is to check out tomorrow and he will close all the debts, but in vain.||We got to main reception and requested to show all the bills demonstrating our deposit spends. At the same moment they said that my room is also NOT PAID for one night! We tried to prove that we stayed in 2 rooms with different dates, showing the booking papers and all the bills paid, but they said "No, that is probably another mistake in our system - we are terribly sorry but your rooms are paid until SAME DAY, so one night is missing!" Thus for us it was easier to pay, than continue arguing. The manager who came to resolve the noisy conflict at reception, promised me a free breakfast next morning and that was the only thing that worked. When I came they did not say "No, you are not on our system", but smoothly let me in (although, foreseen possible issues I took with me the printed out bill, paid a day before).||I do not make any comments on Wi-Fi and internet, as the internet is blocked in China and most of popular sites and applications do not work here!!! Be aware of that. I used a VPN program on the phone and even with this, internet is down all the time on all your devices.||So, to make a long story short, I recommend you to SAVE YOUR NERVES. DO NOT TRY CHANCES STAYING HERE, go to...

I am currently here on a 6 night stay on the Lounge Floor (Royal Regency room). The issues started on the first night - the lounge is open between 6 and 10 for food and drink and I went at 7 pm for dinner.||||Every plate of food was empty (see picture). There were about 9 or 10 tables, 4 of which had empty plates which had not been cleared.||||I asked the waitress if one was free and she said yes but made no attempt to clear it or replaces the cutlery or napkins. I had to ask for her to do everything several times.||||I asked if there was any more food and she said it was coming. I asked for drink but they only had a bottle each of red and white wine, some water and two juice jugs which were also empty. I asked for beer or soda water, coke to be told what I saw was all they had.||||The replacement food came about 20 mins later - about 3 of the dishes were replaced, the rest remained empty as did the trays of cakes etc. There were other plates of curled up sandwiches that had (unsurprisingly) gone untouched.||||The waitress continued to ignore me, not clearing my plate and spent her whole time preparing soup/noodle dishes for two tables of Chinese guests, one of whom had not even arrived at the table yet (they came later as their food was served).||||I left and returned later at 9 pm. There was now an older lady behind the bar and the younger one was on her computer. The wine was all gone and the older lady spent the whole time talking loudly on her mobile phone. It was not relaxing so I left.||||At 4:30 am I was woken by a phone call - i thought it was my room bout it was next door (1005). Then someone from the hotel came to their room and they had a loud conversation in the corridor. I got up to go and complain but by the time I dressed they had gone. Then the same thing happened again 15 mins later. This time I went out and told them to be quiet as people were trying to sleep. Seriously, what was so urgent it could not wait until morning? Tell your staff to at least have some consideration for their other guests.||||I was exhausted this morning but dragged myself to breakfast which was pretty awful. Many things empty and not replaced, the few thing I tried were all cold, even the tea and coffee was lukewarm at best. I decided to come to the room to make a hot tea instead.||||On the way I spoke to an assistant manager about my concerns. Unfortunately Marlin was barely able to understand English and I had to explain each thing 3 or 4 times. He could give no response.||||This place also charges for toiletries and slippers. I have just come from a similar hotel (same price, same facilities) in Shanghai, also on their lounge floor and the difference could not be greater.||||I am typing this at 10 am and now they just started drilling on the floor. Brilliant.||||In short, if you have a choice do not stay here. Certainly do not pay the extra for a lounge floor room - spend your money on a decent breakfast and...

Stayed here for 2 of the 6 nights in BeijingThe hotel is more business-oriented and not very suitable for bringing children, but it is more convenient. There are several delicious restaurants nearby, all within walking distance.I recommend the Roast Duck in Sheng Funian. It seems that many locals will go there late. I queued up. I went there after 5 o'clock on Tuesday and there was just room for us to finish our meal. It was already three floors inside and three floors outside. They also give away candied haws. To be honest, this is me. The most delicious candied haws I have ever tasted. Nothing I bought with money is as delicious as this...The Laohuaishu Barbeque recommended by Guan Xiaotong is just diagonally across the road. It tastes just like this. The atmosphere is good. I was lucky. I went there after ten o'clock and there was no queue. It was only five minutes away. The queue behind me was quite long. I recommend the shredded fried pancakes...There's also Zeng Shengkui. Let's walk there for 10 minutes. The sugar pancakes are so delicious. The beef patties and doornail meat patties are both good. My husband likes mutton soup. Lots of mutton. Highly recommended!I have a question about the hotel. It was my first time to stay in a five-star hotel that required parking fees. The front desk said that it would be cheaper if the hotel paid 80 per day. If I went in and out directly, it would cost 200+ per day. I decisively chose 80 per day, but I didn't expect that I would have to pay 7.5 when I left. I paid because I had to catch a train... When I called the hotel for a return visit that afternoon, I raised this issue. The hotel was also surprised and said that it should be 80 before 2 pm on the check-out day. They didn't understand how the 7.5 came, but the hotel was still positive. After dealing with the matter two days later, I was given welcome fruit and upgraded the room when I...
