The best, friendlier, awesome service ever. Ive been traveling all around the world, what i can say, this hotel is really beyond my expectations. Helpfull staff, they have everything…nail clippers, batteries for camera, card for train, book to places u want to go..and even allow us to check in early. We arrive at the hotel at 6am, tired, smelly and sleepy. They so nice allowed us to check in early at 7am. The hotel in Hutong area. Within walking distance to everything u want. Food. Halal food, wet market, mosque, michline star restaurant etc. Staff well speak in english and always helpful. I will repeat staying here if i go to Beijing again.

A nice, simple, and sweet hostel with private rooms and shared bathrooms. There is a good balcony area on the 3rd floor with a great dining/drink menu for the restaurant downstairs that have reasonable prices. Happy Hour for a BOGO for the local draft is a good deal. There are also rotating evening events like a Dumpling Making class. I was content with my 1 week stay here.

Happy Dragon has a very convenient location, easy walk to the Subway line, easy to find, and maybe a 20 minute walk from the Forbidden City.

The staff were helpful, but their English was not particularly good. We didn't opt into any of the shows after seeing the cost. They were helpful in telling us how to get to Mutianyu via public transit and such.

The atmosphere at the hostel is friendly, but there was really no lounge area to hang out in apart from their restaurant/bar inside.

The walls are really really thin in the rooms, and the radiator heat units do not heat the room particularly well. I could listen to someone's conversation in the next room word for word, even when they were talking softly. Small, cozy rooms. Internet and TV worked great, but no VPN.

I got food poisoning when I tried to order a burger at the restaurant. They did not have any burgers, despite it being a featured item on the menu, and so I ordered a chicken burger instead. I got food poisoning, presumably from the chicken burger that was actually just a cold chicken sandwich. After 4 months in China, this was the first time I got food poisoning from anywhere. Their Draft Beer...
