Novotel Beijing Sanyuan — Hotel in Beijing

We chose this hotel due to it having direct access to the airport train and also being just a few steps away from the train station. We knew we were going to have to walk a lot in Beijing so we did not want to get a hotel that required more walking from the train station. Turns out that Line 10 is very useful for where we wanted to go and the train journeys did not take too long to all the places we went although if you see on the train map, it looks like it was far from a lot of places. ||||The hotel room was sufficiently appointed for the 10 days we stayed. We had a connecting room and both rooms were very spacious. We could open our luggages and still have much space for us to walk around. The bathroom was spacious but the door had a gap meaning that it did not provide full privacy. This was the only flaw in our stay and it may well be a major flaw if you are not travelling with family and require more privacy. I like that the bathroom has plenty of space to hang your clothes or towels. ||||They provided 1 can of coke and sprite in the room and replenished them every morning. So did this 10 day groupon china thing and it was amazing... but of course it was super cheap aaaand you get what you pay for. The floor was softer than the bed, you're literally sleeping on a box spring, but after 20 plus hours to get here - who cares?! Until the A.C. goes out! I didn't care but my hubby body temp runs hot and after many excuses from front desk they brought him up a fan (which he had to do at all hotels since it's a thing - non working A.C. at all hotels in China). Stayed 3 nights here and the ONLY thing in area is a mall. Well after the 2nd free night here you get pretty tired of the mall so we decided to venture out for dinner one night and found theee coolest BAR - check out The Link which us walking distance from this hotel. The hotel is excellent and just in front subway station, the hotel room and restaurant is great.||||But when you have a arrogant and unprofessional FRONT DESK staff, your image and reputation end up with negative comments and disappointment.||||Front Desk never check properly of the customer name and just keep on saying cannot find the name, no manner to talk to customer and arrogantly saying may be you do not know this is 4 star hotel and wrongly book....a lot of 'look down' words from her, a lady named Zhao Lily.||||We raised complaint and ask for apology letter, sadly hotel management refuse to give.... ||||The Beijing trip is a unhappiness experience when I stay at Novotel Beijing Sanyuan Hotel and met this unprofessional staff, Ms Zhao Lily....
