Swissotel Beijing Hong Kong Macau Center — Hotel in Beijing

Overall, this is a great Swissôtel property that I have stayed. The hotel looks new and modern, and the facilities that the hotel offered are amazing. ||During my stay, the service is not bad, but there is nothing stand out. The receptionist, Yan, explains most of the benefits when I check-in, including room upgrade. Originally, I got 3 categories upgrade to an executive room, but I wanted the other room, which is only 2 categories upgrade. My decision in wanting to upgrade to a desired room was unexpected, but she was very kind to give me the room that I want. I think this is a rare hotel that can upgrade the room based on my preferences, and it makes me wanting to return in the future. However, the service becomes more robotic in this stay. The staff in the club lounge was quite robotic, and there is a lack of warmth. They seems to be very busy and forget about guests who visit the lounge. I do not find this issue is significant as most guests are staying in the lounge for a short dinner. One thing to note is that only a few staffs can speak English, but a translator will work if needed to translate from Mandarin.||As briefly mentioned above, the Accor Plus benefits are great, especially a Platinum Accor membership. I got all basic benefits like more than 2 room categories upgrade, welcome drink, late check-out, free breakfast, or lounge access. They are all expected from a Swissôtel property, and there is no problem in lack of recognition.||The room is spacious, and the bathroom is spotless. The bed is too comfortable that makes it difficult to wake up early, and I always sleep more than 8 hours. The sofa is good for working or relaxing. Moreover, the bathroom is perfect because it is super clean and spacious. The bathtub looks new, and it seems like it is a feel weeks old. On the contrary, the AC is problematic, and I have to call the staff 3 times during my stay to finally making the AC functional.||The food offered in the club lounge from 17h30 to 19h30 and the breakfast is 6h30 to 10h30. Both are amazing with Chinese and Western style food. There is nothing to complain for the F&B offerings during my stay.||Lastly, the strategic location can be a good reason to stay here. The hotel is accessible through exit C of Dongsi Shitiao train station. From Beijing Daxing airport (PKX), I use the railway system to get to the hotel, and it is very easy for carrying luggages as there are lots of elevators and escalators. This station is on line 2 and line 3, so travelling around Beijing city centre only need at most 1 transfer. For example, it takes about 30 minutes to get to the Imperial Palace by going to Tian'anmendong...

The Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macao Center is in a very convenient location, especially for people arriving from Beijing Capital International Airport. You can take the Capital Airport Express train to Dongzhimen Station and then switch to Metro Line 2 for just one stop to Dongsi Shitiao Station. From Exit C, it’s only a 2-minute walk to the hotel. We stayed here for four nights and found that some of the staff could speak English, which made communication easier. Nearby, there’s a 7-Eleven, McDonald's, Starbucks, and a few restaurants, so finding food and drinks was simple.

Our room was spacious, nicely designed, and had all the amenities we needed. The TV had many Chinese channels, so we didn’t check if there were English channels. The hotel also has a fitness center and an indoor pool on the third floor. The fitness center is open 24 hours and has plenty of equipment for both weight training and cardio. The pool isn’t large but is good for swimming.

We had breakfast at two places. The first was at CAFE SUISSE on the first floor near the lobby. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety, including Chinese food, dim sum, a noodle station, an egg station, and a good selection of pastries, salads, yogurt, tea, coffee, and juices. We enjoyed breakfast here as it was a great way to start our day. The second spot was The Swiss Executive Lounge, which had a smaller selection than CAFE SUISSE but still enough options. The staff was very attentive, asking about our coffee and egg preferences. Since this lounge is only for guests with executive lounge access, it was quiet and peaceful.

In the evening, there was a cocktail hour with hot food, including fried rice, dim sum, and various snacks. There were also both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, making it easy to have a light dinner there.

Overall, we had a great stay at the Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macao Center. The room, helpful staff, and location made our stay very comfortable. We recommend this hotel for travelers looking for easy transportation options, especially those arriving from Beijing Capital International Airport, and for anyone who values...
