Just spent three days here for a conference. It's handily placed being just a 40 minute taxi ride from the airport and only 6 or so stops to the Forbidden City. Restaurants are within walking distance, and shopping maybe not too much further.||Echoing earlier reviews, this place has obviously seen better days. The rooms are spacious enough but they could certainly do with a freshening up. The large lobby is fine but a bit lacking in warmth-both temperature and service. Arriving after midnight, we had to drag our three large suitcases from the taxi to reception by ourselves, with no easily sighted trolleys available. Similarly once we had checked in, we weren't alerted to the trolleys which were hidden as we saw them the following day. So, if you need a soft place to sleep, look elsewhere.||Lastly, a word again about the service. Regular travellers would not be surprised but the level of surliness from virtually every member of staff was something even this well-travelled person was shocked by. It is so universal as to make one wonder if it is company policy! Yo have...
