The location is pretty good like 5 mins walking distant to Dongzhimen subway station with Mubus bus tour outside B1 exit. The hotel looks newly renovated. The room is clean buthey don't have any mini fridge in the room. As it gets warmer in Beijing the end of April, the room feels hot beacuse they only turn on FAN. They said AC will not be ON until mid May, so they suggest us to open the window, which is like this is the 1st time we spend nights at hotels worldwide to be told to open thw windows of the room. Please stay away from this hotel during spring or fall season as they won't provide AC nor heat. Then come a following surprise 2 days after flying back, Trip, com called us saying that we haven"t paid the cab fare, which is weird. We did ask the front desk to help us call a local taxi for the following day check out going to PEK airport. We took the cab and paid the cab driver the RMB 70 from the hotel to PEK airport and tipped the driver RMB 30, total RMB 100. However we asked the driver why the fare was not seen at the front, he said that he forgot to turn it on and told us not to worry because the fare can be calculated based on the kilometer. We took cabs everywhere in Shanghai & Beijing, and this was the first time happen. I don't know if we got scammed by the cab driver?? 2 days earlier, we took a cab from Hongqiao Railway Station to the Dongzhimen Home Inn hotel and it cost RMB 70. Common sense is when hotels help their guests calling cabs, we pay the cab fares to the taxi drivers directly. We bought Metropole Jinjiang Hotel in Shanghai Dashijie through Trip.com also, and the front desk helped us call a cab from the hotel to Hongqiao Railwat Station and we paid the cab driver directly. I don't understand why Beijing Home Inn Hotel at Dongzhimen asked guests to pay the cab fare to them while we already paid the driver directly. Please stay away from this hotel as their...
Read moreI've stayed here twice, due to having business nearby. There is not much reason for most visitors to Beijing to chose this hotel, as it is a bit pricey for what it is. The main plus is that it is about 10 minutes walk to 3 subway lines, including the one to the airport, so for someone traveling light and flying in and out of Beijing, it could be pretty convenient.||||Unlike most chain hotels, this appears to be a remodeled older hotel. There is a restaurant inside (fish heads!) that appears to be an independent business. ||||Otherwise, the rooms are basic, but clean. I had a little trouble adjusting the shower temp, but no other serious problems and the room was pretty quiet for a busy location.||||The room includes basic toiletries, bottled water, wired and wireless internet, fairly good lighting, disposable slippers (on the small side), and a decent number of outlets. ||||The front desk is always busy and not super helpful. I doubt they speak English. ||||Ask for the internet access on check-in, as you need to be given access (and the staff don't ask). Also, when you get to the room, go ahead and request more toilet paper, as the roll is really small. ||||There are cards for prostitutes under the door each day. Not ideal, though for me it is a little better than the nightly phone calls in many Chinese hotels.||||There are cheaper chain hotels all over Beijing, and nicer places to stay in this price range or for just a little more, but this is a good lower cost value in the...
Read moreThe only thing we really liked about this hotel is the location. Two steps away from Dongzhimen station, very convenient both for sightseeing and going to Beijing Capital airport, also the district itself is quite lovely to walk around. The hotel is under some reconstruction and the lobby is a bit uncomfortable to walk through. The rooms are rather good though on the smaller side, the cleanliness is not without fault. We booked a double room with a window. Our room was full of cigarette smoke, which became more obvious when a neighbour started chain-smoking in their bathroom in the evening. The hotel is non-smoking, but they couldn't do anything about it. When we pressed they offered a room change, but the only room available (mind you, it is a HUGE hotel!) was a twin room without windows. There was no cigarette smell in the new room and it was late so we had to accept the change. Had to demand compensation in the morning, because they downgraded our room, received some petty 50 yuan. And I must say all the communication had to go through Google translate, because nobody at the reception spoke any English at all.Overall an unpleasant experience, I'd recommend you look for another hotel...
