we stayed at this hostel during the national week in china. it was the first time we slept in an inn. we could have our rooms and that went well. the only big problem we had and not least was when booking trips to see the big Buddha. the tour was awful !! the trip was very expensive, 700 yuan which is a big budget even if you were on vacation. we thought we could have a rest with a guide, a driver to enjoy the day. it happened the opposite! already the driver was driving very badly and the guide spoke very poor English. the guide even brought a friend to him to progress in English but that's not our problem. the day starts very badly because the boat on which we had boarded had to last 40 minutes to see the Buddha but it lasted only 10 minutes. the excuse was that it was national week in China, but that's not our problem. we paid a lot for this excursion. in the afternoon, the guide took us to the city! it was awful! We paid 700 Yuan to see only 10 minutes the Buddha while we came to see him and we spent most of the afternoon in the city can. In the evening a man from the hostel did not want to know anything by giving a clearing that it was not his fault. but it's not ours either. we paid for something we did not get. On top of that it was not pleasant when we had one of the worst days of our life. Being in China as a tourist I do not recommend to anyone this experience that will disgust you hostels can...

Mrs Panda Hostel- we stayed there 2 times and both of our stayings were events free! The hostel is CLEAN, the sheets are white and ironed, good beds and mooshy pilows, extra blankets on requests, toiletries in the room, also! We prefered the duble room with shared bathroom for 2 reasons: 1. Rooms with bathrooms have less natural light than we like (our preference) and 2. Because the shared toilets ARE EXTRA CLEAN! (Our standards). There is a service lady who s always there although you never notice her into toilet area! Another thing: the toilets are never busy even though they are shared between 14 rooms. So, for our 14euros/ night we had great service! The staff is awasome (even for high demand clients), English speaking and very helpful considering how many travellers are asking for their translating services, bill, food, laundry, tours etc. Tipping the personnel is a perfect way to thank them for hard work! My personal preferance for this place is the self satisfied male cat, Boss, whos the rightfull owner of this hostel! He lies everywhere and any human gives him the amount of love he permits. All in one: great location, good resting & superior cleaning facilities, great services, great...
Read moreThis is quite a nice little place that is popular with backpackers / foreign travellers. The staff were lovely and friendly and willing to offer out advice. You can arrange day trips, half day trips or nights out from the front desk. This included a days tour working at a panda sanctuary, sight seeing or the local chinese theatre plus more. Plenty of drinks available from the front and there is a games room and TV room to relax and socialise in. The rooms are what they are, they're shared along with the bathrooms but cheap enough to not worry about it. If you are looking for something on a budget, dont mind sharing and want to meet new and interesting people - this place is definately worth a stay. They do have a relationship with the traffic hotel next door so if you want something more private and dont mind paying a little more, then that would be worth checking out instead. I stayed at the traffic hotel but still came to Mrs Pandas to eat, drink...
