It was a pleasant stay during my time in Chengdu. The location is absolutely perfect for the first time visitors. Very close to the metro station and the city where all the shops and food restaurants are located. Rooms were decent and good standard. If you are travelling from England, it’s exactly identical to ‘Travellodge’. They have a food hall in the hotel which I didn’t try so I cannot comment on that one. The staff who works there rarely spoke any English so it was a bit difficult when it came to communicating so we had to literally use google translate. Rooms were clean and housekeepers made sure towels and bed were changed and cleaned everyday. The bathroom that I stayed in was a bit rusty. WiFi isn’t the strongest but it does work. I would recommend it highly if you are travelling solo like me and isn’t much fussed about too much luxury. All I needed was a place to sleep in as I was out literally...
Read moreGreat location for the city. 10 min on foot to the central square or to the nearest metro station, not really noisy despite being between two busy roads. The hotel shares the building with a Mercure hotel, with a strange alignment of lifts (only 1 lift serves Ibis and 1 serves both hotels, and you need to call both separately so you will wait).||The staff was helpful and gave me the room a bit before the official check-in time, which was nice. They didn't speak English, however, but the translation app worked.||The room was quite modern. Unfortunately many small issues: the bathroom sink somehow made all my toiletries wet, there was only one socket for both kettle and fridge, and the Ibis slippers fell apart in less than 2 days. Also no safe nor any drawer or cabinet with a door. Not a disaster but I expected a bit more...
Read moreIn corona times many cheaper hotels in China are not allowing foreigners to check in. This hotel is okay for foreigners.||||The room was very large. Nice to get a table and chairs as well as a bed. Large window, lots of light, and the window opened enough to get a small breeze in the room. The bed was very confortable.||||Be aware there is a big outdoor 烧烤/BBQ joint directly opposite that plays music until midnight or later. During the day touts are on the mic trying to sell phones. It is loud all the time.||||The location is alright. It's a bit awkward because it sits in between two busy roads and you need to cross a bridge to get into the main pedestrian area, but you can still reach everything central within a 10 minute walk or so. Lots of taxis outside if you don't...
