The hotel was chosen due to its location proximity to the tourist area of Chun Xi road and Tai Gu Li shopping complex.||The premises were a little dated and probably managed by another hotel operator prior to the Hilton management. However it was properly maintained although nothing much had been/could be refurbished to Hilton standard.||It was a very popular hotel for local tourists and I had to wait for about an hour before a room could be cleaned and vacant. Reception staff was nice and apologetic and check-in was quick. The room was quite spacious with separate sleeping and sitting area each equipped with flat TV. Wifi speed was good but the joining process was complicated in that you needed to have WeChat app to scan the QR code and followed the hotel plus typing a few required information etc., before one could connected to the hotel wifi network. The other simpler option was to fill in hotel room number and guest’s last name, but this option didn’t work for me for some reason!||Hotel amenities were only basic, with no brand name toiletries items. What irritated me was that the body wash, shampoo and conditioner were offered in squeezed plastic containers fixed to the wall. And it took very hard squeeze to have just a few tiny drops of the shampoo and body wash etc. It was therefore a big fight each shower time! Okay, bad news stopped here.||Had breakfast at the hotel and was impressed with the services and food quality. There was good spread of western and asian dishes although local Chinese dishes prevailed. Wait staff would receive you with a smile and quickly responded to your request. Quality of the freshly brewed coffee was above average and I couldn’t help but overdosed with the nice espresso.||What’s best for the hotel was the central location, you got lots of shops and restaurants just a few steps away in the neighborhood to suit all tastes and budgets. About 15 minutes casual walk one would be in the chic and hottest shopping spot of Chengdu—Tai Gu Li shopping complex where you would find international name brands abundant there.||Overall a very nice hotel especially if you travel with family and need bigger room’s equivalent to a small apartment....
Read moreApart from one minor complaint, we had a good stay and experience here. Since it is just one complaint, let's get it out of the way first. Our driver had a problem locating the entrance. He had to make a few rounds within the area, sometimes ending up in small and poorly lit alleys, before finally locating it. While the hotel building/structure is unique and cannot be missed due to its shape and architecture, the main entrance can be more visible. Also, the lack of parking or waiting areas outside the hotel makes it a challenge to drop off/pick up guests in front of the hotel. |Nevertheless, it is located at the heart of Chengdu's main shopping and tourist area, making it very convenient and a interesting way to spend the evening.|The hotel is clean and very well maintained. The decor exudes warmth and has a "fun" feel to it. The room decor and fittings is very modern and contemporary, although it did take us some time and trial and error to be familiar with the lighting system (but still not able to get it right by the time we checked out). |Service level is top notch. Check in was a breeze and the front desk team made us feel very welcomed with their warmth and smiles. |Breakfast was really good, with a good spread, catering to both locals...
Read moreFirst stop for Chengdu. Due to a 13 hr delay at Hong Kong, we didn’t arrive at the hotel until 1am. We messaged the hotel in advance to ask about check in time and they promptly responded. The hotel was very clean and tidy. We stayed on the 2nd floor and it was relatively quiet. The location was good and it was easy to catch a taxi outside. Breakfast wise, there were a range of selections of pastries, dumplings, steam buns, cereal, toast, sausages, bacon and drinks. There were also freshly made noodles. My kids were given a free mini blind box during breakfast too, which they really enjoyed. Unfortunately, my son left it on the bed on the day we left. Reception staff spoke limited English, but it was easy to communicate with translator. There are bottles of water and dispensable drinks in reception provided free of charge. It took under 30 minutes to get to the high speed railway station. We travelled to the panda breeding reserve from here by taxi too. Hailing a taxi wasn’t difficult. You can also use Didi...
