The Temple House in Chengdu is a standout hotel that offers a memorable experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, you’re greeted by a beautifully preserved Qing Dynasty courtyard, complete with traditional architecture that instantly gives a sense of the city’s rich history. It’s a striking contrast to the sleek, modern interior that awaits inside, blending the old and new in a way that feels both thoughtful and luxurious. The attention to detail in the design is evident everywhere, from the stylish lobby to the lush greenery that adds a calming touch to the property.
The rooms are a highlight—spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The bed was exceptionally cozy, and the bathroom felt like a mini spa with its high-end fixtures and generous layout. I appreciated the little touches, like the quality toiletries and the quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to unwind after a day of exploring Chengdu. The large windows also let in plenty of natural light, giving the space a bright and airy feel.
The staff were consistently professional and courteous, always willing to help with a smile. Whether it was arranging transportation, offering recommendations for nearby sights, or simply checking in to ensure I had everything I needed, their service added a personal warmth to the stay. The location is another big plus—being right next to Taikoo Li means you’re steps away from some of Chengdu’s best shopping, dining, and entertainment options. I loved being able to walk out and explore the bustling area, then return to the peaceful oasis of the hotel.
The on-site dining options were impressive as well. Mi Xun Teahouse was a favorite—the food was delicious, with a mix of local flavors and creative dishes, and the setting felt serene yet sophisticated. I also tried Tivano, their Italian restaurant, which didn’t disappoint with its well-prepared meals and relaxed vibe. For relaxation, the indoor pool and spa facilities were a real treat. The pool area was clean and quiet, perfect for a refreshing swim, and the spa offered a level of tranquility that made it hard to leave.
Overall, The Temple House is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Chengdu. It’s a place that balances luxury, convenience, and a nod to local culture in a way that feels seamless. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, it delivers on every front—I’d happily stay again and recommend it to friends or family looking for a high-quality hotel...
Read moreOur stay at The Temple House was extraordinary awesome. Among all the hotels we’ve experienced in Chengdu, this was by far the best.
I care about service attitudes a lot. From the moment we arrived, we felt treated with kindness. The warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm of the staff made all the difference. Their kindness wasn’t just a formality; it felt heartfelt, as they truly loved their work.
A special mention goes to Troy, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and enjoyable. He was incredibly attentive, offering us a thorough room tour, ensuring that our two separate bookings were combined, arranging activity appointments, and introducing the nearby events and highlights. When we encountered an issue with our transportation, Troy proactively assisted us, ensuring we had a hassle-free experience, especially it was on the Chinese New Year eve. His dedication left a lasting impression on us.
Beyond the service, the hotel itself is a masterpiece. The architecture blends ancient Asian aesthetics with contemporary luxury, featuring elegant wooden accents and black stone elements. Our room offered a breathtaking view of the traditional temple-style houses, creating a serene and immersive atmosphere.
The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Chengdu’s best shopping district. Most stores in the adjacent mall have English-speaking staff, making it exceptionally convenient for international travelers. Surrounding the hotel are premium restaurants, street food stalls, vibrant bars, livehouse, historic landmarks, and cultural sites, making every moment outside the hotel just as exciting as inside.
It’s easy to find a beautifully designed hotel, but The Temple House is more than just aesthetics—it’s a place where service, warmth, and hospitality truly shine. I’ve stayed in many luxury hotels with high membership, but few have left such a heart touch impression on me.
I wholeheartedly recommend The Temple House. If you’re...
Read moreI have to stay at The Temple House every time I come to Chengdu. Even though it’s old, I still choose it. This is probably the only hotel on my hotel list that doesn’t care about its age. Needless to say, the location is right next to Taikoo Li. The hygiene is still in place and the service is still so considerate. Because I was traveling with a baby, Derrick at the front desk helped me arrange the room in advance. Snacks and fruits were prepared in the room. The children's bathrobes, slippers and toiletries were all arrived in advance, so I didn't need to rush them. Charging cables are prepared at the bedside of the guest room. During the turn-down service in the evening, the guest room will be tidied up again for us. Used cups will be cleaned, used towels will be replenished, and the clothes we put away will be neatly folded for us. After putting it away, they will also put masks on for us. The service is considerate anyway. All the small details in the hotel will fill the hearts of guests bit by bit. I used to think that the hair dryer was not powerful enough, but this time I replaced it with a Dyson in the suite, which is super nice for people with hairy hair. The pretty girl with a big bob at the front desk was very nice with her smile. The invoice was issued in advance before check-out, so there was no need to wait at all, which was very comfortable. All these services are probably the reason why I choose The Temple House every time I come to Chengdu! See...
