The location is actually at Chaotianmen Stn Exit 1, right opposite Raffles City.
Search this on Amaps to find the right place: 重庆Indition英迪逊高空酒店
Info that they won't tell you: The hotel is not its own property, the actual building is 光控朝天门中心. There are 10 hotels in this building and Indition rents only a few floors. If you are looking for the view of the bridge and river and not specifically wanting this hotel brand, you can go for other hotels in the same building such as Ashan, Iseya, voco etc.
There are no facilities owned by the hotel. No breakfast/restaurant/in-room service, only a small seating area that they call a lounge in the level 38F lobby.
Pool is a tiny area with no showers (you shower in your room) and awkwardly right in front of the reception table. I'd say it's for them to say they have a pool than for any real usage.
They have no laundry room, you ask the staff on Wechat to collect your laundry and they take 1 day to wash it for you. Beware with delicate clothes bc my shirts returned with the prints wrinkled from their high heat dryer. Also came back smelly (the smell of half dry clothes).
The most basic rooms have a small staircase leading to the door. The staff will carry your luggage for you but this could be a problem for some.
The lift from the ground level lobby does not take you straight to your room level or the lobby. Take to Level 30 and then transfer lift to Level 38. At the hotel lobby, you can take as many water bottles as you want.
The projector inside the room looks amazing, but as expected, only has Chinese streaming services, so don't expect to be able to watch movies unless you have a local streaming subscription.
The smart Xiaodu home assistant (equivalent to Google Assistant for home) can on and off lights and pull curtains by Mandarin voice commands. It should be able to turn the air conditioning on and off, but ours didn't work and had to be operated manually. Manual switches are still available in the room.
Although there are no facilities, there are 4 different massage parlours in the same building. Some are pricy, some are reasonable, but they have the same incredible views while you get a massage. And there is a food court area in the basement (accessed by a different lift from the ground level lobby). If you order food in, the delivery guy goes straight to your room to deliver instead of leaving it for the hotel staff to deliver.
Due to the very touristy and uptown nature of the location, note that there is no supermarket nearby in a 1km range (Raffles City has no supermarket) but there is a Lawson right next to the building entrance.
Street food is also not good here. Your mileage may vary, but for me, the nearby restaurants were also not good (although there are good drink shops across the road). We travelled out to eat and buy groceries.
My review: The rooms are thoroughly clean and the housekeeping is great. The main draw of the stay is the view and the design of the rooms.
The most basic room that I stayed in has a bathtub, although the tap did not have hot water so I filled it with hot water from the showerhead.
Proximity to the MRT is a huge plus, but I preferred walking. You can walk 3km+ in a one-way route from the hotel to hit all the tourist spots like Hongya Cave, Luohan Temple and Jiefangbei.
We stayed for 4 weekday nights for 2131 RMB. The hotel isn't super amazing but you won't be disappointed either and the great...
Read moreI booked this hotel for my husband’s birthday, expecting a wonderful experience given the nearly 1,000 RMB per night price tag. Unfortunately, the hotel did not meet those expectations.Upon our arrival, we were greeted by an unpleasant odor emanating from the toilet, likely due to drainage issues. Since I wasn't feeling well and was quite tired, I thought I could mask the smell with some perfume, as we were only staying for two nights. While attempting to adjust the water temperature before my bath, I discovered something sticky under my foot when I was stepping on the towel. To my surprise, the tiles were loosen and adhered to my sole. I promptly reported this issue to the hotel via WeChat, and while I appreciated their prompt response offering to change our room, we opted to stay put since it was late and we only had one more night. However, the situation worsened the following morning when we found a cockroach in our room! This was an experience I certainly did not expect, especially in a hotel at this price point.Overall, I was deeply disappointed with our stay. The only redeeming quality of the hotel was its prime location. Unfortunately, the issues we encountered overshadowed any positives, and I feel the experience was not worth the...
Read moreMy stay at this hotel was truly exceptional, thanks to the outstanding service provided by the staff. They were incredibly kind and friendly, going above and beyond to assist me during my visit. Since I didn’t have a local number, they kindly helped me order food delivery multiple times, which made my stay so much easier and more comfortable. To our surprise and delight, the manager also offered us a complimentary upgrade, which was completely unexpected but greatly appreciated. It truly added to the wonderful experience we had during our stay. The hotel also provides free laundry services and 24/7 assistance. If you need anything from reception, all you have to do is send your request on WeChat. This was incredibly convenient and felt like having a personalized butler service. The level of attentiveness and care they provide is genuinely astonishing. It’s clear that the staff are dedicated to ensuring that every guest’s needs are met with efficiency and warmth. The entire experience was pleasant and enjoyable, and I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.Special thanks to 静静 for her wonderful service—it truly made a difference in my...
