We visited Chaotianmen Square in the afternoon when it was drizzling, which added a misty charm to the riverside view. The massive Raffles City complex towers over the square and makes for an impressive backdrop. The contrast between the modern architecture and the open square gives you plenty of angles for nice photos.
While the weather wasn’t perfect, it was still worth the visit just to take in the scale of the buildings and the atmosphere of this iconic spot where the rivers meet. If the sky is clear, I can imagine the photos would turn out even better.

A major ongoing construction project makes it hard to reach the tip of the peninsula. I first tried to walk along the northern side of CQ but everything was closed off. Eventually I made my way along the southern side and could reach the tip.
What could have been a cool riverside promenade and viewing area is literally just a concrete platform with nothing to do. Why did the Chongqing city planners fail to implement some kind of waterfront park?
Perhaps this place is nicer in the summer.
Oh, and several of the boats at dock constantly play a loud spiel which is actually really annoying...
