广州索特来连锁酒店 — Hotel in Guangzhou City

I was supposed to stay for more than 10 days but already after the first night, I decided that I was moving out. Here's why:||||1) Room was dark, Aircon was noisy.||2) No cardboard for hanging clothes. Only provided 3 miserable hangers and to be hung in the toilet.||3) Filled with cigarette smoke smell 24 Hours! I even had to stuff the seam of the door with towels to prevent the smell from coming in.||4) in-room wifi was HOPELESS.||5) Toilet was long, but only the washing basin area is lit, leaving the bath area dark or dim at best.||6) Open the windows and faced the backyard of surrounding blocks of buildings. While that's alright, but the heap of rubbish at the ground floor of this area surrounded by these buildings is definitely anywhere near "sightly"||||The only saving grace is that the staff are really great in service and are willing to offer a...

What a bargain! During the middle of the Canton Fair and we got it for 60USD a night. Not much to look at from the front, the reception/lobby, the lifts, and the floor foyers, but once in the room it could easily be 4 star. Room cleaned, beds made and towels changed everyday. Great shower. Nice firm beds. The Online Porcupine will definitely be staying here next time we visit. The only downside is that its about a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest metro, but with a taxi its only a 10RMB trip so thats not too bad. I came to Guangzhou 30 March at 2.00 in the morning, the staff is very helpfull and nice. Even their english is limited but they try their best to service you. ||I have the room no 755, they inform me the room get double bed. in my opinion when have double that means single size but that's queen size :) ||The room is clean, also the bathroom. ||The hotel is near with seven eleven, restaurant and hospital.
