This small-scale hotel has a lot going for it. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful and that goes a long way in my book as a seasoned traveler. The location of the property is outstanding from two standpoints. It is one block off of the main thoroughfare, so it is relatively quiet, and you can get a good night's sleep and the hotel is located a short taxi ride (no more than 15 RMB) from the American Embassy. It is also conveniently located to all trains, buses and taxis for forays to all popular spots in Guangzhou.||||I did not mind the curtained bathroom because the bathroom itself is clean and efficient. It is a good room for a single traveler, but I would not recommend it for more than two people in a room.||The beds are soft, so if you like a hard bed, this place is not for you. Their combination of location and low price (less than 200 RMB) for a room is very hard to beat for value. The room does not smell of stale smoke as many other hotels in the area do; as they have a good non-smoking policy. The place is great for an overnight...
Read moreI cannot be too nitpicky about this place. It was value for money and we know that we get what we pay for. The place is very near and just across Exit A of the Peasant Movement Institute Station which they could have posted in their ads. Around it are convenience stores, eateries and fruit stores. It's walking distance to Beijing Road for all that shopping. The room they gave is just clean, big and spacious enough for two people and with a nice view.. I thought the bathroom was just okay without a door. Since it was winter, it was freezing at night and we could have been informed about how to operate the A/C for the heater, if there was any at all. Good thing the comforter was warm enough for us to survive the 2 night-stay we had. Only one receptionist knew English. Overall it...
Read moreThis hotel is located close enough to famous busy street Beijing Lu (around 800m), and very close to Peasant Movement Institute Metro Station (just across the street), there is also Circle K across the street, there are not many food stalls near it, most of them are noodle stalls, but there is a Chinese Restaurant across the street, the food was delicious for Asians, the staffs of the restaurant couldn't speak English and the menu had no picture at all. The hotel itself is nice, but most of staffs of the hotel cannot speak English, some can speak properly. Room was nice, large, but a bit smelly (smoke or something), the bathroom has no door, and beware to use toiletries, you will be charged,...
