I recently had an extended business trip, during which I stayed mostly in four- and five-star hotels. I understand that the hotel hospitality industry is becoming increasingly competitive, and high levels of customer satisfaction are critical. However, my experience at this particular hotel was exceptional.I lost my mobile phone in a taxi on my way from the airport. I immediately requested assistance from the front desk manager, Mr. Charlie. He promised to do his utmost to help me recover my phone. Mr. Charlie reviewed the hotel’s security footage, tracked the taxi's license plate number, and promptly contacted the taxi company. He obtained the driver’s mobile number and called him to see if he had found the phone. The driver denied having it, claiming to have other passengers in the car after he dropped me at the hotel.Despite this, Mr. Charlie decided to follow up with the taxi company and requested them to check the video recordings. After reviewing the footage, the company confirmed that the mobile phone had indeed been taken by the driver and urged him to return it to the hotel. Mr. Charlie called me in my room to inform me that the phone had been found and that the driver was on his way back to return it. After about 20 minutes, the driver arrived at the hotel, and Mr. Charlie accompanied me to meet him so I could retrieve my phone.Lastly, Mr. Charlie emphasized that his core values, along with those of his entire hotel staff, are customer satisfaction and safety above all else. He also mentioned that China has significant technological capabilities for ensuring safety and security. Mr. Charlie is truly a highly professional individual and the right person for this industry....
Read moreHotel room: 0 (zero) starHotel location: 4 (four) starsHotel staff services: 5 (five stars)We checked into a room on 1/25/2024 for a 6-night stay. We realized the room smelled smoke even though we requested a non-smoking room. The worst was the bathroom's strong, moldy, foul smell, which is a health hazard and unacceptable. On top of it, the in-room HVAC thermostat doesn't work, which we didn't notice until the next morning. We suffered without fresh air circulation and high room temperature all night long. The following day, thanks to the friendly, accommodating front desk staff, we could change to another room with no issues like the previous one. Even the room we changed to also has maintenance issues, such as the ceiling light above the nightstand hanging loose from the ceiling and exploding electrical wires. And the bathroom Faucet is loose, etc., unfortunately.Besides the exceptional overall staff services, the hotel is conveniently located in a local neighborhood, a perfect alternative for tourists who want to experience the truth of Guangzhou. Suppose Baiyun Hotel is positioned as an international five-star hotel. In that case, besides sustaining excellent staff services, improving room maintenance, upgrading the aging hotel, and paying attention to the details is essential. Outstanding staff service or a profound hotel history couldn't substitute necessities such as an operational thermostat or a foul smell in the bathroom.Having said that, I wouldn't consider Baiyun Hotel when we visit Guangzhou next time, nor would I recommend it to others due to my experiences with...
Read moreVery good experience staying in the business twin bed room for one night. The account manager Ms Ye led us to the room after checking in, introduced the room to us. She explained that there is a clothes heater that we can use to dry our wet clothes, which was what we needed at that time, since it was raining, and I only prepared two sets of clothes for the two days’ trip in Yellow mountain. With that, I can change with dry clothes for the afternoon trip. And later, Ms Ye served two cuts of ginger soup which helped to warm your body when being wet due to raining.Ms Ye sent us sunset and sunrise info with time and probability, that were very helpful since the main reason of selecting this hotel is that it is the hotel that is very close to the best spot to see sunset and sun rise. With 40% of chance seeing sunrise that day, we ended up seeing a beautiful sun rise! The room’s walls are covered with wood, looks beautiful and make your feel like you are staying inside a wood house. The wall’s sound insulation is not very good compared with other hotels in city, it is explained that it is very hard to move construction materials up to the top of the mountain so they used light weight material to be more environmental friendly. By the bed time it was all quiet. I guess every body was so tired after a whole day walking!I would select this hotel...
