Staff is great..check in at 3 AM..2 minutes max..||||Rooms are small (you can opt for larger rooms, they have suites) but the point is if you need to only sleep take the small rooms, it is more than you need..||||If you want MORE, then take a double room and EVEN MORE..take a suite. ||||Room Views are city view, and some great views from top floors. ||||Rooms are clean, great amenities and a very comfortable Bead..Linen are great..Sleep quality 9/10||||Wood flooring in the rooms so no smell, pathways are carpeted but don't smell at all. ||||All bathroom amenities provided..and refreshed daily. ||||House keeping is excellent. very responsive. ||||WI-FI is great and free. ||||Breakfast is on 6th Floor, somewhat limited but for 20 RMB it is great. Food is tasty and fresh, great start to your day. ||||The reception staff is courteous and helpful, language divide is there so help for directions and streets is a challenge. ||||EXPECT the best of Budget Hotel, you might find the walkway a bit less wide, rooms a bit small..But it is more than required for the money you paid for. ||||Security is good as you cannot access the elevator without your room card..||||RECOMMENDED for solo business travelers, city explorers, business visitors...||||NOT RECOMMENDED...family, business visitors who want to meet people at the hotel.||||IMPORTANT||Garden hotel parking has intercity bus stand operated by CTS..so if you want to go to HONG KONG for eg. just walk 2 minutes, take a ticket GREAT BUS, 3 hours you are at HONG KONG Airport..No mess no fuss...

Read moreThanks to a reader's comment, I booked a business room and the room was fine and comfy but I can imagine the rooms below that would indeed be quite small, as commented by many. On top of the nasty surprise that Expedia had charged my credit card more than the price I had seen on screen and booked at, there was also some hassle at the front desk because Expedia told them a twin bed while I had paid for a double bed which was slightly more expensive. After some discussions, the manager agreed to give us the double bed room but like many average hotels in China, the customer service was still to be improved. They were not rude but just very plainly factual, no smile and did not seem to try to make guests feel welcomed. A bit strange that they put a box of facial tissues in the bathroom instead of a toilet roll though. Metro station v nearby but on a line which we had to change lines for most of the places we wanted to visit.
