We went to Harbin, China for a few days recently and stayed at this hotel. In fact we stayed there a few years ago and it was good then and I am happy to say its still really good. The service was excellent and really polite, the rooms and room service were very good and the rooms clean. We arranged breakfast during our stay at the hotel and it was very good and the food regularly topped up and quite a good selection of food. ||||The room cleaning staff are honest and their attention to detail very good. We always come home to an immaculate room.||||The Hotel is right on Central Street and its great to go for a walk of a night and see the nightlife in this pedestrian street which is fabulous at night, all lit up, people everywhere - it too is one of those great experiences in life and you can appreciate all the styles of architecture as you walk the length of this cobble-stone street. ||||There is also a great coffee shop just across the road from the Hotel - the coffee and food were good.||||All the staff were pleasant and professional and I would happily stay at this hotel any time I go to Harbin. ||||My advice is to book before you go due to the really good location and it is a popular hotel due to its proximity to so many things. My other suggestion is ask for extra pillows as the pillows on the bed...
Read moreIf you want to stay on Central Street, this hotel is a great choice. There are lots of shops and restaurants around you with in walking distance. It’s roughly 10 minutes away from the nearest train station however getting a taxi is just around the corner. The staff didn’t speak English, if any very broken yet it’s not a deal breaker, because all you have to do is hand them your passport at check-in. The room had everything you would need or expect from a highly rated hotel such as a kettle, hair dryer, tv, etc. Feel rest assured that the rooms are well insulated too. We had -32 degrees outside in the evenings and didn’t feel cold at all. The biggest let down was the quality of the bathroom. The shower head didn’t spray water very well and the shower door had to be fixed during our stay as the water sealant strip was loose, thus water kept running on the bathroom floor. The hotel is showing its age but not chasing be away. Yet its not the newest hotel, definitely one of the best placed. One highlight was the breakfast spread. I booked my room with breakfast included and I’m glad I did. There was freshly baked goods, fresh fruits, eggs and meat, some Chinese dishes and some cereal. Glad to have been able to leave the hotel in the mornings with a...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights in July of 2016. As others have said you cannot beat the location of this hotel. Right on the main street and within walking distance of the Metro so one has access to pretty much everything there is to see and do in town. Quite a few of the fancy brands are located out of town which requires a cab or limo service to get anywhere.||The pedestrian area is full of Chinese families enjoying the music and dancing in the cool Manchurian evenings. It was quite safe and clean, if a bit of a tourist trap on the main drag.||I have a few criticisms of the hotel however. The first is that the "breakfast" was truly terrible tasting, in fact on the 2nd morning I chose to buy bread and coffee up the street. The buffet gets 1 star.||The second issue was about noise. We were booked onto the "honored guest" floor which was an unexpected perk, however the service staff have an office just off the main elevator bank. Every morning a man would yell and scream at the top of his voice at staff for 20 or more minutes. He was so loud that we could hear him in our room with the TV on.||While we enjoyed staying here, do not eat the buffet food nor stay on the 14th floor. Your experience will be...
