Booking this hotel was truly the best decision we made on this trip. Unfortunately, we were scammed during our tour in Yunnan and had to cut the trip short. We needed a place to stay for the remaining two nights and shortlisted this hotel and another international brand. Some reviews mentioned that the room interiors were a little outdated, and I had my doubts, but we decided to book this hotel as they offered a family room. Looking back, I’m so glad we did.From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond to help us. We approached the front desk, Ms. Liu (小刘) to ask how we could file a police report for the scam. After Manager Xiao (肖经理) and Ms Liu heard our incident, they immediately contacted the nearest police station to get advice and guided us to submit a refund request and complaint through their local tourism app. As we didn’t have a local number to complete the process, Ms. Liu even helped us with the submission herself.Although our refund request was initially rejected as we couldn’t provide an invoice, they didn’t stop there. The next morning, we decided to file for a police report. Manager Xiao had kindly arranged for one of their staffs, Mr. Li (小李), to personally bring us to the police station. They could have just given us directions, but instead, they made sure we got there without any issue. Thanks to their help, we were able to submit the case to the proper authorities and eventually got our refund back. Their support and willingness to go the extra mile truly made a difference. Despite our earlier negative experience, this group of people restored some of our confidence in Yunnan’s tourism.I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews, but when I do, it means the people involved have done something right; and they certainly did! In trip.com they said they provide "laundry room" but when I inquired about it, the hotel said they only provide "laundry service" at a fee. It seems they are confused at the difference between "laundry room" and "laundry service". When I explained to them, they did not offer any satisfactory solution, so I had to reach out to trip.com to get a compensation for this misleading advertisement. That's not the reason why I rated their service low. I can understand this issue comes from a misunderstanding from English. The worst part is that during my interaction, their staff gave me an altitude and constantly bad-mouthing me behind my back. One of the particular staff gave me a smirk when I tried to explain to them that they mis-understood the difference between "laundry room" and "laundry service". Overall, if you want to get more perks for your money, go somewhere else. This is a typical upscale hotels with traditional services.
