This review is the same as one I have written and posted on the othe hemuju listed. They are 1 and the same- so I have written this twice. ||||What a great place to stay- in the middle of a vibrant, busy ancient town! ||Our family of 2 adults and 2 children (11yrs) stayed for 2 split nights here, a||On way to and from Tiger Leaping Gorge. ||The reception staff are very helpful- especially Li who poke good English. ||The room we had was upstairs both nights (2 separate visits of 1 night), with a fantastic little apartment! Both rooms we stayed in (deluxe family) had 2 king singles downstairs, and a queen on the mezzanine. Huge, luxurious bathrooms, with the second having a wooden bath!||We had breakfast included 1 night, but can't comment as we had to leave early both days.||The one negative was trying to locate the hotel the first time. We asked many people (who led us in different directions), when finally a girl we asked took pity on us and actually took us to the entrance. The easiest way to find it is to enter the ancient town through the south gate. The ancient town costs to enter which is a maintenance fee of 80yuan for while family once. Keep your receipt to show them (if you leave and come back as we did). Enter the gate (fruit/vegetable stalls on your right), and and follow that 'road' until you reach the T intersection. Then turn right into the 'road' which is zonghi lane. The second alleyway on your right is the one that your hotel is at the end of (not in English).||We ate in the 'food court' part of the ancient town- most dishes costing 15-25 yuan. Read moreThey have two branches in Dayan Ancient Town.
The branch is located at a quieter lane. That branch is newer and has better facilities.
The main shop is located at a main alley ie it is in the thick of activities. Opposite the inn is a shop that sells handheld drums. Linda, the owner of the inn, is indeed made for this industry. She is friendly and ready to give helpful advice. One really feels like one is coming home when one sees her making tea at the inn lobby, after a day of tour. Linda offered to upgrade our room to the branch qt no extra cost on hearing that my husband had problem sleeping (due to incessant drumming).
Toilet has a glass door. Kind of embarrassing when one has to use the toilet when one's roommate can see one.
Overall, a nice, pretty and cosy inn. Will stay again if we visit, but at the branch,...
