I booked this hotel for a family trip for 4 nights. The location isn't bad, it's within 15-20 mins walking distance from yuyuan garden, the bund and nanjing pedestrian street. There are two metro stations near the hotel within 8-10 min walking distance. Very convenient and the lines used are convenient too.The hotel staff were nice and some speak good English. Every night from 9-11pm there are "snacks" provided so it was a nice gesture. There's laundry on the 2nd floor but you have to pay via wechat/alipay. You can always ask the staff for help if you have any trouble.I booked a room with 1 queen and 1 double bed. It's spacious and just the right amount of space. The bathroom and shower was OK. There seems to be some old paint chipping on the walls but overall is clean.During my stay, there are renovations going on but the room I was in, I didn't really hear the noise while I was sleeping. I cannot say for other guests whose rooms are probably closer to the renovation site. Overall it's a good budget hotel and I cannot complain on what's given. I like the location due to easy walkable to the attractions. The neighborhood is quiet at night and it might seem scary to some people but it's fairly safe at night. There's a convenience store at the corner of the street and a few restaurants nearby. I haven't gone in personally to buy anything but it's nice to know there are options in case I need them. If you need help ordering takeout, you can ask the...
Read moreFirst, let me talk about the positives. The location is on the Bund, so it's close to People's Square and the shopping center. If you're a Muslim, then there are lots of halal restaurants just opposite the park near the hotel. The room was clean, and hygiene-wise, everything was really good. The location of the hotel is close to Yuyuan Garden station and East Nanjing Road station. I would highly suggest you go to the Yuyuan Garden station and walk to the hotel from there as it will be closer. Now let me talk about the negatives: During my visit, the aircon was making the room really hot. It was so hot at some point that I was sweating and couldn't sleep. When I approached the hotel representative about it, his behavior was rude, and he suggested that I turn off the AC if I'm feeling hot. The reason they gave for the hot temperature was that they use central AC, and the temperature is the same for all rooms. My stay at the hotel was good; however, their behavior on the last day was very unsatisfactory. The hotel representatives didn't even know much about the area. When I asked them which station was the closest to the hotel, they couldn't give me a proper answer. So I had to walk to East Nanjing Road station every day until I figured out that Yuyuan Garden Station is much closer. On the last day, when I wanted to weigh my luggage, I asked the hotel for a mini scale, and they said they did not have one. So when I asked where I could buy one, they...
Read moreWe travelled as family with a toddler and stayed for 3 nights.|| ||Room: Neat and clean rooms with all amenities. The cookies replenished everyday were tasty (Standard Twin Room)||||Service: While the reception staff spoke limited English it was enough for us to get by. A special mention to the attendant helping the reception staff. He was really warm and helpful throughout our stay. On the day of check out he helped us hail a taxi for a short distance to the nearest MTR (which is very difficult to convince the driver). It was raining and we had a lot of luggage with us plus a toddler.||||Breakfast: The spread was decent. Had both Chinese and continental options. It was more or less the same everyday with some changes here and there. ||||Location: What we truly loved about this hotel. It's proximity to 2 MTR stations (Yu Yuan and Dashijie), People's Square, Nanjing Street, Bund, Yu Yuan. All within walking distance and we were with a toddler. Barely used taxi throughout our stay. Also, the hotel is right outside this peaceful park which makes it so perfect. Tranquility within the hustle and bustle.||||Amenities: All that you need. Linen wasn't changed (not needed really), the housekeeping did keep changing the slippers (we forgot to tell them not to) but I find it's a waste and not necessary. We could have used the same pair...
